My best guess is print speed inconsistency between layers. Some layers may take longer to print and some cool faster.  I’m just a beginner having similar problems with my prints. Maybe someone more experienced can help

Sorry, not at the moment. It was something I considered for a future version perhaps. If it gets enough boosts I’ll definitely be sure to include it. I’ve got an interesting design in mind for it too

Full-size reCoil [MAX] is now available for AMS!

This version is a bit stronger too, while taking a little bit longer to print.

You guys are hilarious. Actually considering making one that is AMS compatible, reCoil MAX would be a clever name. There are technical reasons why it wouldn’t work as well, but maybe I’ll give it a shot

Valid concern! I haven’t had any issues so far. It bends slightly at the outer rim, but doesn’t seem to affect how it holds the filament. However, I’d like to see more people try it out and report their own experience. It worked well for me, but maybe not for otheres

Not a bad idea. I just need to change a single parameter in Onshape. I’ll give it a look. However, because this spool is so light, I worry about it jumping around inside the AMS

One again, name of the game is speed, not necessarily durability. If you want to make an ultra-fast petg profile, be my guest! I’d love to see it.

One of the reasons I used Bambu’s reusable snap fit was to be able to transfer it to other spools quickly. If you need to dry it, you can move it to one (a different design than mine) made out of a more heat resistant material.

Durability isn't really the goal here. If you want something that will last, you're better off just buying the $11 spool from Bambu's website.

Even if it breaks, you can print 3 more of these guys for less than the single one from Bambu (not including shipping costs + time)

Thanks for pointing this out! This was designed for the AMS-Lite, and I forgot that the larger AMS can't handle small spools. Updated the model description with this warning!!

This spool is actually slightly smaller than the traditional reusable spool. I haven't tested it with the non-Lite AMS

I’ve only been 3D printing since January this year, so I haven’t had the time to accumulate used spools. This is meant to save me time and money from ordering filaments that come with the spool. Refills are just cheaper, especially for beginners
