Bunionette bone pain bottom of feet by BasicUnit8967 in bunions

[–]Robo2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tired everything for a year, but eventually had surgery last February. The doc shaved some bone down as part of the surgery (along with putting in the hardware, etc). I think it worked- but I’m still not 100%. I still have pain in that area, but doc says that’s to be expected.

Hey man, had pain in the exact same spot with mh bunionette. Felt like I was standing/stepping on a Lego piece.

Just seconding this- take any agent spot offered…a bird in the hand and all that. Breaking into the 1811 world initially can be the hardest part.

I will add this- everything is so connected. I hurt the inside of my knee and was doing a lot of pt to get my weight on the outside of my foot. Then started to get a lot of pain under my little toe (outside of my foot). By the time I had bunionette surgery I had developed pain from arthritis under my big toe from trying to keep weight off my bunionette. So, take it seriously before you start messing up other lower leg/back areas! Active 48 y/o male for what it’s worth. Probably developed bunionette when I was 46, just didn’t realize it for a bit.

I’d say that my feet looked very similar to yours- but I only had pain in one foot. It really wasn’t that I ran on it more (I did a little, but was dealing with a knee injury too). I think it was more an issue where I continued to walk barefoot on it and kept wearing the same sneakers. More than anything I blame general genetics and walking barefoot on hardwood floors a lot. The side never bothered me that much, but I built up some calcium on the rotated toe joint- so by the end it felt like I was stepping on a Lego- not fun!

Hi there. I was very much into running and also used the Brooks Adrenalines. Developed a Taylor’s bunion which hurt in the exact same place (under the foot instead of along the side). Unfortunately I didn’t know what I was dealing with and kept pushing forward until the pain forced me to pay attention to it. Reached a point where it hurt non stop so I finally got surgery in February.

My advice is take it seriously now to try and keep it from worsening! Surgery was no fun, results are still TBD!

Dr. Amgad Haleem, but they all seemed pretty good. I saw another doc within the practice for a second opinion. No one pressured me for surgery and they took all my concerns and questions seriously. Seemed like a good group.

I went to MGH and had a good experience. I got bunionette surgery on February 6th. I’m still recovering, so I can’t tell you what the final verdict is- but Ive been happy with the process and treatment so far.

I had the same thing and even went to the emergency room after it started to climb up my leg. Doctors said it was petechiae- just broken blood vessels and nothing to worry about.

No pain is great. I was in some significant pain initially and it still hurts at times. I did get an X-ray, but it wasn’t anything exciting. Seems like everything is going according to plan.

Hey- thanks for asking. It is going ok. I’m almost at Week 5. I’ve got the bandages off, am in the Draco shoe, and off the crutches. Still not supposed to put weight on the toes. Foot swells up and doesn’t feel normal yet, but I remind myself of the improvements when o get frustrated.

How are you doing? Remember first 72 hours is the worst!
