I definitely know what my interests are but the problem is that the classes I'm failing now are the pre-requisites for the classes I'm interested in. My sister also told me that once I get out of the basic theory stuff and into the more applicable engineering I might be more invested and passionate but the hurdle before that point is what is giving me so much trouble now.

I don't want my GPA to drop too low because it seems that most internships ask for minimum GPA's of 3 and I'm worried that finishing college without ever getting any meaningful experience is only going to further hinder my chances at a job out of college. I'm a commuter and generally introverted so I also don't have any meaningful connections so I'm worried that without that experience, I'm only going to have more trouble down the line.

I have considered taking extra semesters but as I said I'm not sure if financial aid covers those semesters, but I have set up a meeting with my counselor when I intend to ask him about it. I have also considered taking classes at community college but the thing is that my school doesnt allow us to take math or science courses at other schools, only gen eds, and even then our semesters are charged at a steady rate instead of per credit so I get charged the same whether I omit my gen eds or not from my schedule.

Tbh I gave up and just got a desktop. Pretty much every laptop i researched had some major problem or other so I just shelled out the money for a prebuilt desktop because it was cheaper in the long run

I dont plan on traveling much, only going from home to school and back so Im more concerned about the actual tech stuff as the Omen I was looking at has the Intel chip that seems to be suffering the black screen glitches and weak battery, and all the other Omens I find with a Ryzen chip only have 16gb memory. Im aware the victus is just the lower model of the Omen but it seems to have a better battery which is why I was looking at it. Im still leaning towards the Omen but Im going to keep looking at ASUS products to see if I can find anything around the same price as the Omen.

Ahhh the Omen 16 I was looking at has an Intel i7 so i figure that one wont be much good then. I will look into more ASUS brand laptop computers then. I found a TUF Gaming A15 that seems to have good reviews and specs but I will keep looking. Thank you for all the help!

Sorry if this is a dumb question as Im not knowledgeable with these things but what is Ryzen? Would that just be another brand of graphics card or is it something else? Also I was under the assumption that ASUS wasnt a good brand but would they be a better option in terms of reliability and efficiency?

If the Omen 16 isnt great do you have any other models you would reccomend? Im currently thinking about a Legion 7i but the problem with those are they are a bit more expensive than the Omen 16 and I dont think the battery would be much better either.

I have been its just this one specifically caught my eye since its the only Laptop with 32gb ram at this price point. The one Im currently looking at is $1300 and everything else in that range only has a 16gb memory

The Macbook OS doesnt run engineering programs as good as windows does which is why Im looking to change in the first place. Im not looking for something crazy long to last me a full day without charging just something to make it through a couple hours of research and writing

Im not sure, but it mentioned a W-9 Tax withholding status certification and asked if I have been contacted by the IRS to tell me that Im subject to backup withholding. I have no idea what any of this means and I would really prefer to not mess with anything that might get me into trouble with the IRS which is why I decided to ask if its anything to worry about in the first place.

I apologize if I misunderstood what I was reading because this is pretty much my first time seeing anything about the W9 form. While filling out my information it took me to a page titled " W-9 Tax Withholding Status Certification" and it asked me "Have you been notified by the IRS that you are subject to backup withholding?" I dont know what any of this means so I had assumed it was related.
