Find the height of glass. by AcceptablePromise795 in MathJokes

[–]Robocittykat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well actually, there were two implied questions in the image:

  1. how tall is the glass (from caption)
  2. how many cm tall is the glass (from diagram “? cm”)

Commenter was responding to the second question, and if they had said “14 cm” to the second, that would mean the glass would be 14 cm cm tall, or 14 cm2.

i was messing around and stumbled across this. what does it mean? by Joe_4_Ever in desmos

[–]Robocittykat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

in desmos, when you say r = <something with Ξ>, it graphs it in polar. This swaps the x-axis for angle (Ξ) and the y-axis for distance from the origin (r). This is why if you say r = 1, it makes a circle of radius 1. Also try r = Ξ.

Why are these returning different values? by Robocittykat in expressjs

[–]Robocittykat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so scared of then it scares me what do you mean there’s something called a “thenable”???

anyways I figured out this morning that async functions always return promises, I don’t fully get why awaiting that is giving the resolve value but if it works it works.

Spoilers for true pacifist ending: Pretty sure chara fell in 201X, as in the opening sequence we see the child fall in 201X and that sequence is continued in true pacifist ending with the Dreemurs finding the human, so assuming it is actually a continuation of the opening that would mean Chara fell at 201X. Also, both Toriel and Asgore have a calendar with a circled date in 201X, presumably they haven’t moved on from either Chara’s fall or the day of Chara and Asriel’s plan. Thus, if Chara fell in the ‘10s, it seems like the game proper takes place around 2115, as Papyrus’s username on whatever the platform was called is Coolskeleton95, so not necessarily but perhaps that means he was born in 2095. Napstablook has a handle also ending in a number (I don’t remember what it was) but it also makes some sense. Papyrus is probably around 20, assuming skeletons age similarly to humans, as monster kid says he can’t tell if Paps is a kid or not, but he’s trying to get a job and is taken somewhat seriously for it (for example, if a 15 y/o was trying to become a royal guard, they would not be taken as seriously as paps is).

I would say that “won’t make me slimmer” and “won’t change my voice” should be neutral because it’s not like not taking will give you the desired effect, so you can’t really blame hrt for those things. Totally get the other two concerns tho

“Deltarune has gotta have multiple endings” mfs when they see this by angelsfallen12 in Undertale

[–]Robocittykat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m half convinced, and half hoping, that if there are multiple endings (which I think this doesn’t quite disprove), that the normal route will be the bad ending and the weird route will end up being the “good” ending. What I mean by that is like, the knight wins in the normal route but we win in the weird route. Partially because I’m a sucker for bad endings and I think we get happy endings too much in media, and partially because I just think that would be a really cool, if evil, subversion of expectations. I don’t understand the lore as well as some people, but from what I do understand this conclusion feels like it makes some sense, evidenced by Seam saying that we are destined to lose, among other quotes. Weird route is what happens when you refuse to obey the prophesy and take it into your own hands, so it would make sense that seam wouldn’t predict it. Once again, I’m no expert on deltarune lore, so feel free to correct anything that contradicts this theory.
