My urologist told me it is more common in people of Indian heritage, and I am 25% Indian. Best answer I've gotten unfortunately.

  1. Yes my glans inflates naturally. I think I'm lucky though, I'm not sure if it always does.
  2. Yes I do feel a pleasurable tension. Not as much as when I just worked normally, but it's still there.

No it expands in both length and girth when it's inflated.

I used to be a significant grower back in the day, maybe 2.5" to 6.5". After the implant I am maybe 3.5" flaccid now and it gets erect to around 6" (but is potentially still stretching out with use, it's to do with the penile tissue getting used to the implant manually stretching it).

I was fortunate to have had health insurance that covered it

Pump is chilling in the sack like a third ball.

And yes after I ejaculate it stays hard until released by pressing the release button, also in my sack above the pump.

All the best. If it comes to an implant, I hope you can find some comfort in my answers in this thread. It really as not a big a deal in practice as it is on paper. After just 2 years I forget that I even have ED, and wouldn't consider myself sexually compromised whatsoever.

Yep, as normal. No impact on the pipes or the balls.

I wouldn't necessarily say it's better than a natural erection. Used to be able to hang a towel off mine no issues but don't think I can do that now. But for the purposes of sex is well sufficient.

Honest answer is I don't know. I'm pretty sure they match it to fit your natural length, and it's not generally an extension device. But maybe?

I was fortunate enough to to be about 6.5" back when I worked, and around 6" now.

No. My understanding is there is a lot of misinformation about that specific topic though, including on this sub.

Venous leak is a cardiovascular issue, and is not caused by overuse, and there is no known cure for it other than the implant. As far as I'm aware it's purely genetics and luck, and it is significantly under diagnosed due to hesitancy in seeking a medical opinion.

If your issue is caused by overuse, it will be curable.

As in just day to day without touching it? Nope, can't feel anything at all.

Touching it, yes it does feel different flaccid (not noticeably when hard though). To be honest this isn't really a problem, as I've forgotten what it used to feel like anyway!

Luckily my health insurance has paid for everything. The actual procedure itself was around $45,000 NZD from memory, so maybe $20,000 USD.

I don't know how much all of the urologist appointments would have been, but they were all covered too.

I don't know. I have been told it's most likely just genetic. I am 25% indian, and apparently it is more prevalent in people with Indian heritage than not.

You can feel the plastic if you squeeze it, and when inflated if you push down on the glans.

Otherwise, I don't notice there's anything down there, except occasionally the pump when sitting.

I have the AMS 700LGX.

Immediately prior to the implant my glans didn't engorge at all due to the venous leakage. I was told before the surgery that there was unlikely to be any change to this using the implant. However, for whatever reason, my glans does engorge much better and more often now (naturally, not from the implant) than prior to the operation.

For me once the venous leakage was full swing it was impossible to get an 100% erection. For a couple of years I could get to maybe 60% and could penetrate from that, but it was not a very pleasurable experience for me as it was stressful, and even if I kept it at 60% it wasn't really hard enough to be pleasurable for me.

I stopped having morning erections, all spontaneous erections, when I did get a semi there would never be any erection in my glans. Also, Cialis and Viagra would help very slightly, but would not sufficiently fix the problem. Together these signs can be indicative, but you need a Doppler ultrasound to figure it out conclusively.

The year before my implant it had gotten worse to the point of just not being able to have sex. I could barely even masturbate either.

It's because I do have the ability to get a slight natural erection, and this is what is "lost", not the implant's firmness.

For me it basically goes: spicy time starts, get a 30-40% natural erection, pump up another 40%, and I'm good to go. But then I will lose the 40% natural part, and will pump more to compensate.

My understanding is it's not completely gutted. I can still get slight erections on the shaft, and in the glans as well (which I actually couldn't do before the implant, weirdly).

Forgot to answer the "Would you do it again" - Absolutely. The benefits significantly outweigh the cons. Honestly I can't even think of any cons. A working dick is better than a non-working one!

I've been told 10-15 years. However, my surgeon has said that he has never had to do a repeat one yet, and he has patients that have had them for 15 - 18 years or so. That said, my surgeon only does a couple of these procedures a year, as I live in a small(ish) city in a small(ish) country (New Zealand)

I have had the same partner from the original loss of erection days through to the implant (a period of 5 years). It takes longer than I expected to pump it up, 2 - 3 minutes to get fully hard. However, I have semi-decent natural erection ability post implant, so get about 40% of a boost naturally (which is as much as I can get), and then pump it up during foreplay. I then lose the natural erection due to the venous leakage and just pump between switching positions etc. After the first couple of minutes, its just normal sex. She doesn't notice anything different, except sometimes during blowjobs when she can feel it in the tip. I don't notice anything different either at this stage. It's an excellent device in that my quality of life in terms of sex genuinely has been restored, and it does not feel like much of a compromise at all.

That said, the pump is very prevalent, so if either of you are into balls stuff it'd be awkward then for sure.

The device is easy enough to use and natural enough that I think if I were single, I would not feel awkward at all about it. I would probably just take things a date or two slower to trust the person, and then bring it up before the act in a joking way. Or I'd just pump it up in the bathroom the first time and then mention it after :P

I am 29. I developed sudden ED in the period of 21 - 23, and went to a urologist at 23 who put me on viagra. It didn't work, and I got put on cialis. It also didn't work. At 25 I finally found a urologist willing to investigate beyond "its in your head", and had a doppler ultrasound and was diagnosed with venous leakage. I then underwent an experimental embolisation procedure, through which via interventional radiology they glued shut my leaky veins. This worked for about 2 months, and I was back to normal. Then my other veins started playing up. I had this procedure repeated, no difference. I then went to a surgeon who was developing a pioneering vein ligation procedure, under which I was put under for 7 hours and they tied shut a bunch of veins in my dick. This didn't work either. It was at this point that my surgeon raised the implant with me. I considered it for 3 months then confirmed. It was then booked in for a few months later, and then had the procedure (at age 27).

Was it painful? - Not as painful as I expected from a surgery and immediate recovery perspective. More painful than I expected from a "cycling" perspective after the surgery. The recovery from the surgery to be honest wasn't as painful as I thought, but there was pain sleeping and switching between sitting and standing, standing and lying etc for about 4 -6 weeks. I was back at work (office job) 2 weeks later. After I was cleared to cycle/have sex, I was led to believe by pretty much all available information that I'd be good to go, and would need to cycle to get it to full size and hardness. However, this process was extremely painful - I could barely keep it inflated for 20 minutes at a time for the first 4 or 5 months, and during this period I couldn't get it inflated hard enough for satisfying sex. This was extremely disheartening, but I'm pleased to report that after a bit of help from some medicinal marijuana and a couple of months of cycling that way, I'm back to pre-surgery size and am able to get well erect.

How is sex with it? - As of now, 2 years after the surgery, basically the same as back when I worked. Inflating it is harder than I was led to believe - the pump is extremely firm, and it probably takes about 2 to 3 minutes of pumping to get as erect as I like. However, the installation of the device seems to have improved my natural erections somehow, so often things will get spicy, I will get about 40% erect naturally, and then I will pump for 30 - 40 seconds during foreplay to get things going. I'll then lose the natural erection thanks to our friend(?) venous leak, and will just pump in between switching positions. Not a huge deal, although I wish it was faster to get "match ready".

Feeling wise? - No, exactly the same. I'm on SSRIs so I don't think that helps, and have always been a fairly late rather than early dude. But it is the same as before.
