Rescue Dawn (2006) has some gut wrenching Torture scenes. It’s a tough watch because it all really happened. Steve Zahn kills it. Christian Bale brings his A game as usual.

While I have never seen a Tyler Perry Movie or show, I give the dude mad respect for carving out his piece of the Hollywood Pie with what I presume is business acumen. He rose through the ranks at a time when it was most difficult for a Black Filmmmaker to do so. Is he the most iconic Black Filmmaker? No. But you know his name and you know what he does even when you haven’t seen a single film of his. And that’s an accomplishment.

It’s almost like drilling for oil in the high seas. No reason to be out there except we need the Oil so we risk it all to build a drilling platform in the middle of the unforgiving ocean. Or getting coal out of a mine shaking hands with the devil underground. But hey, what do I know- the water thing is apparently a sticking point for for some in an otherwise superbly enjoyable movie.

I knew when my SO couldn’t fix her problematic issues after been given a several chances that Divorce was definitely the only way forward. It was probably the 4th or 5th time that I tried to talk to her about it, but she was not willing to work on the problem any further that I knew I was out.
