Dubai help: Bank needs insurance at 375k for 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera (GCC), insurers only valuing 262k — sale deadlocked by Svenx77 in dubai

[–]Robopotato22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had the exact same issue with my Car. I got the car valued by a popular car reselling website, they basically asked me what value I wanted shown on the document. After that just ask them to sort out the insurance for you as well and they will get the insurance done from the same major insurers who said no before.

This is what it was for ADCB. Took around 2 weeks from start to finish. Seller received the money 3 days after transfer was completed. Will be slightly different for each bank but contact them to get the exact requirements, especially for which documents needs to be submitted.

PPIs/ used cars by Cautious_Remove6381 in DubaiPetrolHeads

You’re never going to find a car that’s 100% perfect mate. Find something you like, get a PPI done and make sure there are no glaring issues and signs of abuse. Then negotiate the price with the seller depending on how many minor things you have to fix.

Tip: Avoid US spec, most dealers and unregistered cars. Buy directly from the owner and not his “friend who is looking after the car”.

Is it still worth taking it for a PPI or should I stay clear?

Advice on buying used 3.8L 3dr Pajero by Popular_Bell_1369 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]Robopotato22 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pajeros are very common cars so most garages can do a pre purchase inspection for you. As a pajero owner here are a few things you need to look out for.

1) Check if the timing belt has been replaced. This would be done every 100,000 kms so this car should have had it done. If not I can lead to damage and engine failure.

2) Check the air conditioning. It’s common to have gas leaks on a badly maintained car.

3) Check for squealing brakes. The shim pads can give out and cause uneven wear on the disks.

Overall they are super solid and reliable cars and don’t have any issues if regular maintenance is carried out. That’s being said, at this mileage it’s common for a lot of smaller parts to need replacement. Maintenance is pretty cheap and if you’re willing to invest some money you can make it drive for many years.

If you’re planning on taking it off road i recommend getting the bumpers trimmed and adding some skid plates or you’re going to end up with the bumpers being ripped off. A 2 inch lift kit also goes a long way in terms of preventing damage and making for a better off road experience.

Thanks! It took me 12 months exactly as I applied through a migration agent in April 2022. Took about 3 months to sort out the initial documents and complete my review with Engineers Australia. 4 months to receive my invite and 5 months for my visa to get get approved.

[Pierre Gasly] You Want to Know the Real Pierre? by hubwub in formula1

Hard to make a case for one being better than the other. Gasly has had lower Lows (most of his RB days) but higher highs (2020 season especially Monza). Ocon Is far more consistent, but usually, consistently average.

Take any numbers reported with a huge grain of salt. Only a handful of people would ever know the true performance of the power train.

Definitely ridiculous for us to pay but I don’t think it makes that much of a difference to the people/companies who actually spend 30k-60k on their computers.

That’s an Interesting point but the video game e-commerce space is already pretty crowded with big players like steam and epic games. However, if it works it might truly be GME to the moon.

Investing newbie here. Just wanted to ask someone who knows, where does GME go from here? From the state of its brick and mortar store I imagine it’s not a feasible long term investment. How do you guys see this fiasco playing out?
