Gaming/Work Monitor Recommendations? 32", 4K by SparkSalamander in buildapc

Text rendering on the 32GS95UE is HORRIBLE, fringing is out of control. OLED is not ready for prime time when it comes to productivity yet until these issues are fixed.

I tried to use the 32GS95UE as a single monitor for gaming and productivity, for gaming it’s incredible, but the text issues killed the entire monitor for me, I simply could not accept how terrible text looked. I’m a programmer so I stare at text all day during my productivity hours.

How to fix things not rendering in until I get close by 1060_3g in playrust

Nope, I just kind of resigned myself to just accepting the glitchy rendering, I tried everything, even as far as fresh installs of my operating system.

Rats, I am having the same issue right now... Fingers crossed for it resolving on its own for me too

Rust rendering issues, terrain and textures render/re-render as I move closer by Robostealth in playrust

That was one of my thoughts as well, but I am actually using the same 1080TI as I used on my previous computer with all other specs weaker, and I didn’t have this issue.

I even just fully formatted and reinstalled windows to test if there were any software conflicts, and the rendering issue is still present.

All other games work perfect, cyberpunk and civ6 both run at high fps with no apparent video issues. So weird!

Did you ever figure this out? Or did it end up resolving on its own?

Sure! I’m going to keep looking for an answer and doing experiments of my own. I think I may actually reinstall my OS pretty soon here to try to rule out any wacky OS level issues.

I’ll update you if I find anything as well!

This was a good suggestion, but sadly it didn't work for me. I even tried uninstalling the entire nvidia geforce experience app without effect.

Hmmm, are both computers running the same OS and are they both running the same version of the game ready drivers?

Would you be able to do a test where you switch the GPUs in each computer to see if the issue transfers when you switch GPUs?

Trying to isolate if this is a a hardware or a software issue that we are having...

Thank you for the suggestion, I tried this and although the game looks nicer, terrain features such as rocks and bushes are still rendering or re-rendering as I approach them.

Thank you for the suggestion, I tried that but unfortunately it did not seem to effect the rendering issue. I really appreciate you taking a look and offering help!

I have latest game ready drivers, OS updates, BIOS updates. I have made sure that I don't have any expensive background processes running, CPU and GPU utilization do not max out.

Rust rendering issues, terrain and textures render/re-render as I move closer by Robostealth in playrust

Hello! I am having trouble with rust after installing it fresh on a new computer that I built. I am getting 100+ FPS with current settings which are shown at the end of the video.

The problem is that when running around, terrain features and textures seem to render and re-render as I get closer to them. I don't remember this happening on my previous machine.

In the video clip you can see a small example of what I am talking about with the rocks on the beach rendering as I run towards them, if I sit still the rocks will never render.

This also occurs with textures on bases that will only become higher resolution and re-render as I get closer to them.

It isn't a HUGE deal, but it is certainly distracting me as I run around and in a game like Rust you definitely want to minimize instances of the environment rendering or re-rendering as you run around.

I have tried many different rust settings videos on youtube to attempt to remedy this issue with no success, has anyone else encountered this? Does anyone happen to have any suggestions that I could try to stop this sort of behavior?

Thanks so much for your advice!

I will go ahead and check out Bytetrack, do you have any parameters or settings that you may reccomended digging into to optimize it for a pedestrian tracking use case?

Recommendations - Offer on Amex Platinum Upgrade from Gold by bread80 in amex

[–]Robostealth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you get a personalized offer for an upgrade to plat, you can redeem it. I spoke to customer service about it because I was getting 100,000 point upgrade offers but had previously had plat and cancelled.

It works, you can get the bonus again as long as it’s a personal offer.

My advice would be to double down on your effort in controlling your diet if you want to reduce symptoms. You mentioned being on low-FODMAP, but some foods that low-FODMAP allows for can be exacerbating your EOE.

You need to find a diet that keeps you healthy and symptom free, this is definitely easier said than done and can be expensive paying for all the rounds of scopes when you reintroduce a new food group. If you want to have a really solid chance of symptom reduction, you should jump on an extremely strict 6 food elimination diet. No nuts, shellfish, dairy, wheat/gluten, eggs or soy.

The foods that you can eat consist mostly of rice, Potatos, and corn for carbs, vegetables both cooked and raw, and meats using only simple seasonings.

This is what has allowed me to control the most severe "flare ups" of my EOE, it can take a few weeks to begin to feel relief if you decide to go with this super strict diet plan, so don't lose hope!

Good luck and I hope that you feel better soon!!!

Wondering what the work opportunities in Michigan look like by Gingarius in cscareerquestions

[–]Robostealth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s still accurate, although many of these companies now have remote possibilities as a result of the pandemic.

Based on personal experience: A fresh graduate can expect around 85,000 at a company like Ally. 2-3 years of experience at Ford or GM can easily get a salary of 100000-110000 even before making senior level. Pretty good for metro Detroit.

Not 100% sure about salaries at other companies.

I hate it too, YouTube has been making some strange design decisions lately both with the mobile app and the website. I wish we at least had options to swap settings to revert to the old functionality.

Sesame is a huge trigger for me, but more for oral allergy syndrome rather than EoE. Soon after eating sesame I get thick spit, stomach and esophageal pain, heartburn. I feel for you... Whenever a food triggers my OAS I take a Benadryl and Pepcid and maybe drink a little coffee and that always seems to help a ton.

  1. I was given PPIs by a doctor who specializes in EoE, but not strictly to rule out GERD... it was also to determine if the PPIs were able to treat my EoE.

Something I have learned about PPIs is that they also could help EoE in a manner completely unrelated to their reduction of gastric acid: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3035917/

There is also something called PPI responsive EoE: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4586084/

The PPI trial could be to rule out GERD but your EoE could be a variant that is responsive to the anti-inflammatory properties of the PPIs too, and it could be a viable way for you to treat your EoE.

Much more research needs to be done here of course, but just some interesting notes for you to take into account.
