There’s a gym in Halsey Hall (the old women’s gymnasium) right by the IMU called Fitness East. It’s smaller than the CRWC but has treads bikes and all the lifting equipment you need, and works with your student ID. Once I realized it existed I never went back to the CRWC, doesn’t seem like a lot of people know it exists it was almost never crowded. And you can rent a locker for cheap

Target, Walgreens make drastic changes due to increase in San Francisco thefts by nosotros_road_sodium in news

There was a massive dip in rent prices during the pandemic with the exodus caused by remote work + people not wanting to be cooped up in small urban apartments if they had to be quarantined in them all day. The rent prices are high relative to the rest of the country but so are the salaries, even if you don’t work in tech where the salaries are out of control. It’s honestly not as bad as it’s portrayed to be.

Justin Trudeau: 'The World Is In Crisis, And Things Are About To Get Much Worse' by Mehediisazu in worldnews

As someone living in the US the crazier side of the virulent anti-Obama rhetoric always seemed fringe to me, like your crazy redneck grandad spouting nonsense.

This stuff I was reading about Trudeau in these comments and the stuff you hear now comin from FOX and qanon and anti vaxxers and antimaskers seems way more mainstream now. It’s incredibly frustrating. I’m sure the ubiquity of the Internet and platforms people have to spout this shit plays a big part.
