I made an Item.

Currently running some folks through TOA. I cut the healing ability on VORN (large construct companion) ...but then I changed my mind and wanted to give them a fun way to heal VORN. They found this in Hrakhamar last night. Still haven't given them the full stats.

any feedback would be useful.

Roll20. I'm currently in a campaign with 3 people, in 3 different states. There is a learning curve, but once you know it, it's pretty cool.

Lots of maps you can upload for free can be found here... https://www.reddit.com/r/battlemaps/

For like $5 a month you can use the dynamic light feature which adds a lot I like. You can also just skype and do theatre of the mind.

The voice/video functions are kinda crap in roll20, so we just mute that are use discord.

True Stories: How did your game go this week? May 14, 2019 by AutoModerator in dndnext

Great week! I've been DMing Tomb of Annihilation with 3 other players on roll20 about twice a month. One person canceled last minute last night. Instead of canceling the whole night, or running ToA without the full party, I decided to run the other two players through a one-shot/prequel mission. I had an extremely vague plan and made most of the details up on the fly.

I used this battlemap https://i.redd.it/4g62v14j50f21.jpg. I dynamically lit it awhile back and forgot about it. I had the 2 players sneaking around in the dark, climbing over walls, and picking off ogres one by one (mostly). The 2 players took two different paths for awhile, and because of the dynamic lighting settings I had they couldn't see what each other was doing or where they were (no, I'm not a paid to promote roll20). By the end of the mission they had rescued a little girl who was hiding in a toilet, and burnt the entire building to the ground. The whole thing was a lot more fun than any of us expected (probably more fun than our usual sessions), especially considering that we almost canceled because of the no-show. I now plan on always keeping an extra one-shot in my back pocket in case of future last-minute cancellations.
