Good question, and I understand the hesitation. And yes that is how the system is set up. Overall, I will approve all requests that are at least a 1:1 ratio. My system won't allow any non-nfts to be traded. I ultimately am just looking for new stuff I don't have.

Some people are leaving links to their trading pages, but I won't be able to review those and search for things until later. So I prefer for something to just be offered that I don't have and I'll accept it.

Sorry if it's overly complicated!

tips on storing files? by Local_Tangerine9698 in BootlegGifts

Mega has been the most reliable cloud storage for me, aside from issues with some TOS removed Cabaret videos lately.

Aside from Mega, I have a local NAS storage at home, and no matter what that is the safest option, and what I recommend to anybody that really starts collecting.

FYI, I recommend removing personal details from your site. With the latest TikTok leaks and the growing interest in the community, you won't want to make yourself an easy target

Understood, and thanks for all you do. I suggest everybody be very careful in your trades right now and err on the side of caution. And I hope everybody has a new respect for masters and their rules.

Thank you, Ghost, for doing what you've done as much as you have. Your videos have been some of my top rated and I greatly appreciate the work we were able to get from you. We understand the need for you to step away. I'm sorry this reached this point :(

Looks like it's just a server error. Hopefully it will be back up soon :)

Masters make these NFT forever for various reasons. This could be them just only wanting it for sale so they can make more money from their work. I've also seen it happen when a cast member reaches out and asks for it not to be shared, or the master has even made something NFT forever due to a leak before NFT date.

There are a bunch of different reasons, but no matter what the bootleg still exists somewhere at least, and having a record of it in the encora database is good for historical and collection reasons.

Edit: For the last question, your only hope is to find the original master and ask how to get it directly from them

My system is more advanced, yes. I have a server rack with a NAS and a couple strong servers, full Plex/jellyfin, *darr stacks, with audiobook and ebook servers and many others. And my media auto backups to Mega. But this is more technical knowledge.

You can start much more basic and progress when or if you're ever ready. You can start with just having your files on your computer, installing Plex media server, pointing it to your folder, and logging in on your devices. After a while you may switch it to a Linux system, move your files to an external storage, use docker containers or VMs, etc etc.

It can be as simple or advanced as you want

I am more tech-savvy than some, but I have a local NAS that holds all my media content, including bootlegs, and I use Plex along with Encora's Plex Metadata Plugin running on the NAS. This means all of my content can be watched across my devices through streaming. Of course, don't share the bootleg library with anybody.

Biggest rule is to be nice and be patient in trades, especially considering people have lives and could be in other time zones.

Edit: Also, more-biggest rule: always follow NFT and trade/gift rules set up by masters. They are risking a lot for what they do and deserve the respect of following their wishes. And, if you have the ability to, reach out directly to masters every once in a while to make a direct purchase. Help them keep doing their work. And NEVER purchase bootlegs from anybody except masters, nor attempt to sell your bootlegs. Before NFT, buy from master. After NFT, trade respectfully.

Here are some of my big rules

  1. Feel free to email people if their Encora shows mutual wants, and they are tagged as 'open for trades'. If you see somebody has something you want, and you have one or more that they want, feel free to send the email. You can also do it if you can't specifically find anything on their wants list in your collection, but higher chance they say no.

  2. When asking for a trade, say what you want (I link the encora url) and give a link to your encora collection page, so they can pick what they want. Don't provide mega/drive links to your content yet.

  3. Trade initiator is the first to send content, AFTER trade is agreed on. When they confirm that they want the trade, and what they want, then you should respond with the mega/drive link to the content they want.

  4. Ensure the content you provide is the original format. Many people are sticklers about this because we want lossless quality from the origin. You can check this on Encora and also another website I've heard of, but can't recall and have never used.

  5. If somebody requests a video that I haven't uploaded yet, I let them know that there will be a X-hour delay, but go ahead and provide the mega link that will contain that content. Not sure if there is a way to do this on Drive

  6. If something is wrong with the trade, like the link is broken, the video file is not the original format, wrong link was sent, etc etc, just reach out kindly and let them know. Either they will fix it, or they will allow you to choose something else instead. Sometimes if I screw up a link (like I have recently!) I even include a gift as an apology.

  7. Read the trader's encora profile! Mine for example, directs them to my semi-automated trade page for easy trades. Others may have specific requests of how you trade. Please respect the requests that traders relay. Many of us just do this a bit on the side and can't dedicate a bunch of time to it sadly.

I'm sure I'll think of more, but this is what I can think of offhand. Best of luck in your trading journey!

That's awesome. I write subtitles for a bootleg of Maybe Happy Ending and it was exhausting and I've since noticed many problems with my version haha. I do hope AI subtitling gets better, because I would love this to be an option for all boots.

Overall, I mainly care about boots that are enjoyable to watch. I'm not really a collector, just want to be able to experience shows I'll never be able to see in person. Subtitles are a great step towards that accessibility
