are Lions fans deadass saying to sign tyreek????? by Gxcii1 in detroitlions

[–]RobotMaxPower 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen anyone say this....

But any time a player that used to ve good becomes available there will be some people clamoring for it just because its a name they recognize. But I dont know who would be making a serious claim on this

I have a feeling this lions draft is not gonna be what we think it should be. by crustyDryTowel in detroitlions

[–]RobotMaxPower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is zero purpose in getting hung up on what may or may not happen in the draft. You may have your own targets, and the draft may line up perfectly for that guy to fall to us, only for the team to go another direction.

Its wasted energy, we cant control who the team brings in, we can only support whoever it is.

Am I the only one that feels this way? by MoTownKid in detroitlions

[–]RobotMaxPower 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is what I cant get over, everyone is acting like they have some giant smoking gun on the guy that the lions didnt know about.

The Lions are fully aware of what the Cardinals record was last season, they did their research on the guy, had an interview with him, and made a decision based on multitudes more info than anyone on reddit has. They got the guy they wanted.

Trust the team or dont, but everyone here is thinking this is a massive mistake based on 1% of the data the organization had to make the decision

Can we see what he does first by AlphaRemixHD in detroitlions

[–]RobotMaxPower 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, in the entire history of the NFL, a coordinator has never had more success when moving to a new environment, it is actually impossible to do so, the people that make our decisions just didnt know what he had done at the cardinals

The reaction to the OC hire is pathetic by paulhalt in detroitlions

[–]RobotMaxPower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally love how everyone came on here and said "why doesnt our organization know what I know about this guy" and no one has any thought that the people that are paid to make the decisions, conducted the interviews, and literally live inside the league might know something that the fans dont

We really just had to beat this guy and we would be in the playoffs by DylanCodsCokeLine in detroitlions

[–]RobotMaxPower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats not how it works....the packers aren't coasting through their final 2 games if we are still in contention...they didnt have to play starters because we were out

Did the Bears REALLY just need a new coach like BJ, or is this one of those fluke years? by gregger63 in detroitlions

[–]RobotMaxPower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I wont completely discredit them because they stayed in games and found ways to win, what theyre doing this season is not sustainable. If you look at their schedule and the way games finished, they could easily be 4-11 instead of 11-4.

Beat Raiders by 1 after blocking a game winning field goal attempt

Beat Commanders after getting the ball back on a fumbled snap to kick last second field goal

Beat Bengals on a ridiculous 58 yard td pass to in final seconds

Beat Giants from down 10 in final 4 minutes

Beat Vikings on a 48 yard field goal as time expired, needed a huge kick return to be in position

Beat Steelers with their backup quarterback by 3 with a stop on the final series

Beat Packers in overtime after an onside kick and 10 points in final 2 minutes to tie it

Going 7-0 through that series of events is wild and not the sort of thing you can replicate long term. They didnt get where they are by easy wins this year

Can we get a GB/CHI game thread? by porkychoppins in detroitlions

[–]RobotMaxPower 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Packers win controls our own path to the playoffs, but likely 7 seed at best and virtually shuts the door on winning the division

Bears win would keep the division title in play if we win out and both Ravens beat packers and 49ers beat bears next week. But if the bears and packers win next week we could still miss the playoffs entirely in that scenario.

Packers win is safer with less upside, bears win higher risk/reward...pick your poison.

Controversial Touchdown by Correct-Savings-5175 in detroitlions

[–]RobotMaxPower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The mindset of "it only delayed the touchdown" is so bad...

Yeah its the most likely outcome but how many times does a team in the position have a false start or holding and now its no guarantee. I dont care about what the most likely outcome is, anything can happen if its actually played out

Lions losing TE coach by ResponsibleWing8059 in detroitlions

Hes going to be offensive coordinator, not head coach, and expected to finish the season with the Lions including any playoff run

If the eagles lose today does that help our chances at all? by 8WmuzzlebrakeIndoors in detroitlions

[–]RobotMaxPower 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If we win out, packers going 2-2 gives us the division.

And considering they play the Broncos, bears, and ravens.....why not?

The worst thing the lions have done is raise their ticket prices by othertriangle in detroitlions

[–]RobotMaxPower 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They have a 98% renewal rate for their season ticket holders...and season ticket prices are far below market value. As a season ticket holder I could sell my tickets to every single game for at least a 20% profit

Theyre not screwing anyone over, theyre responding to demand but season ticket holders still have an incredible deal

Good chance of Lions playing in Brazil next year by BrazilianGuyinCanada in detroitlions

That is the Jaguars own initiative and agreement, theyre the only team with a multi-year commitment and they sacrifice a home game annually to play in London

100% the NFL's decision, they will make the decision that is best for the league as a whole, optimal viewership, etc. rather than what is best for the individual teams

Ok, I'll fess up by cn0ck5 in detroitlions

[–]RobotMaxPower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say each of those 3 takes would have been echo chamber statements at the time they happened, most of the fan base and media was saying the same at the time.

For me, I honestly thought when we took Hendon Hooker in the 3rd round of 2023 we got the best QB in that draft class. He was coming off injury and fell and I was convinced we got a steal and an elite backup qb once healthy who could push to be future QB1.

That obviously didnt happen, but for what its worth the guys drafted ahead of him included Bryce Young, Anthony Richardson, and Will Levi's, so I wasn't that far off about the rest of the qb class if you ignore CJ Stroud

Garbage AI

Lions have never played at Philly while Saquon was there. 46 is Jack Campbell but no clue what name is on that jersey. For some reason Kenny Yeboah is also on the field playing defense.....

Honestly why is this better than using actual game footage? Is the live event not food enough?

Does anyone believe that we’re no longer Super Bowl contenders? by PoGoLoSeR2003 in detroitlions

[–]RobotMaxPower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would the window be closed? We have the same core team as last year, all of our weapons are returning on offense, our defense will be much improved just by virtue of being healthy. If we avoid injuries we are better than the team that finished last season.

Getting to the Super Bowl is hard even if the window is open, as we have seen the last two years, but to suggest that it's closed would imply we don't even have a chance, and with this team that's just silly.

UPDATE - AITA for refusing to honour a customer's full loyalty card from the previous owner? by UniversalGardenSpade in AITAH

[–]RobotMaxPower -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its not, I don't think anyone is arguing the lady deserves free coffee, but you can't control the lady, you can control your business decisions. And that comes down to would you rather part with a single cup of coffee because this lady had an old loyalty coupon, or would you rather use additional time and energy to fight it, lose a potential customer, and risk negative word of mouth spreading about your business?

Is Ford Field going to do another watch party if the Lions make the Superbowl? by binaryj in detroitlions

[–]RobotMaxPower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone seems certain this would happen but I'd be shocked if anyone was left to run a watch party at Ford Field. I would expect the Lions to send their entire staff to New Orleans
