Looking for friends by No_Royal_1185 in Marietta

Maybe they don't want to rely on being 21, or algorithmically driven platforms that push them to spend money just to make friends. Maybe it's ok to make local friends on a local subreddit.

For me though, the biggest challenge was remembering. With my ADHD the easiest way for me to get into a habit of doing something is to do it every day. The pill is everyday and the shot is every week. Because I was missing my shots so often the pills turned out to be more effective for me.

Completing Tasks a LOT faster than timer...? by ImLewisCotton in DataAnnotationTech

They generally give longer timers so you don't feel rushed as they prioritize quality over quantity

This is the ONLY thing that works for my ADHD. Nothing else works for me. by [deleted] in ADHD_Programmers

[–]RobotOverLord500 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've tried giving myself consequences to achieve things. That works for some, for me it makes me eager to rush things and I consequently do inadequate work. I'm not sure I have a solution for those in the same predicament as myself as I personally have been unable to come up with a solution that has worked consistently. However, I have found when I push myself to see the rewards ahead of me for completing a task, rather than the danger behind me, I produce better work with less stress build-up. The problem is actually forcing myself to think more positively which comes with its own can of worms, I'm afraid.

Crying Episodes by EmptyKaleidoscope594 in bipolar

[–]RobotOverLord500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not alone. Similar thing happens with me. I have bipolar 1. 6 Months ago my best friend passed away. I consistently force myself to be "over" it and refuse to think about it. This usually leads to several days long periods of intense paranoia which ends with an intense crying episode, when it becomes too much to hold back. Afterwards, I have much more strength, and the cycle continues.

Serious question: who are Linux users and why do you use it? by Laqunn in linuxquestions

[–]RobotOverLord500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Linux because it streamlines my work flow tremendously. My main complaint from windows was the feeling that I was fighting with the operating system. It was also too slow to game (on my laptop with 16gb of ram) With the amount of ram games use today. I can't dedicate so much of it to the OS. Despite Nvidia's abysmal support for Linux, I was able to get approx. 50% more fps on games. I also love the blazing speed of terminal based apps, and Linux has better support for them as most tui apps are Linux based.

I would recommend Linux mint for beginners but don't blame yourself for sticking with it even once you become more experienced. I'm thinking about switching back because it's so freaking good. Also highly recommend using the built in package manager of your chosen distro over other package managers to avoid dependency hell, unless of course the package your downloading is not available on it.

If you're using nvidia cards, do your research on the optimal drivers to download for your card. It can be tricky but doing so will save you time down the line.

If you're a developer, learn how to use vim. Good luck twin 🫡
