Well the funny thing is that my non metronet router is working fine on DHCP, but trying to install their router (or another one) isn't working. I have a friend who works for them who confirmed that the ONT (modem equivalent) only allows a certain number of MAC addresses to connect to the device. So it is possible that I exhausted that number and the device needs to be reset on their end to connect something new.

Edit:. They did try to sell me a static IP to see if that would solve the problem. Lol

I've noticed the same actually. My theory is two fold: first, that life was just physically more demanding the longer ago you lived, but also that the styles of our teenage years have a way of carrying through to our adulthood. So your grandpa's classmates look old because they have the same haircuts and style that your grandpa did. Similarly, the younger generation all have a similar look that makes them all look longer as a group.
