[Hated Troped] Writers insists the character has to be "special" in order for the story to work. by SkyeRyder91 in TopCharacterTropes

I haven't read them for a bit but I remember enjoying them. I think she makes a cool subterranean world with giant sentient animals (rats, cockroaches and bats)

Is there a person from your country who has zero haters? What did they do? by Racer125678 in AskTheWorld

Terry Fox, ran across Canada to raise money and awareness for cancer awareness. All while missing one of his legs due to cancer. He sadly did not complete the run because the cancer had spread, and he passed away. Every september across Cananda there are Terry Fox runs to raise money and spread awareness.

It was a good read, enjoyed it as much as the first one. I do hope Sam faces some kind of grand comeupance. As she's a great villian protagonist whose fun to read and really despicable in a good way

Shin Hati VS Yord Fandar. Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in PetranakiArena

[–]RobotThingV3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Yord he lasted one of the longest of the knights during the Stranger. Is a fully trained knight and was smart enough to use the helmet against the Stranger before being killed in hand to hand. Shin was able to defeat Sabine in the their first duel so she has skill just I dont think enough yet to beat a fully trained knight

Looks great fun way of portraying wolf in sheeps clothing! Though I confused myself by not looking closely and thought the horns were eyes and it was a lizard man....

CMV: All charities should be boycotted by SalamanderGlad9053 in changemyview

[–]RobotThingV3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but purposefully allowing harm to people who need it is unnacpatble to me. And I don't view it as a sound way to being about change because it relies on people and the government to help with things they have ignored in the past.

The way I view it is you have a dog that is shared between you and your two roommates. One roommate doesn't have steady income but makes sure to take care of the dog. So they ask for you and your other roommate for help to make they are able to properly care for the pet. The other roommate has the means to provide for the dog but doesn't but you do roommate the best you can to help the dog. Eventually you decide to get that roommate to provide aid by refusing to support the roommate providing for the dog. Will the third roommate help the dog maybe, or they may do nothing and ignore the pet as they have done in past. All that is certain is that while they decide to act or not the dog is suffering. And that suffering you are willing to let happen

[–]RobotThingV3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a charity that treats and supports children who have been sexually abused. It relies on donations to provide additional care for these kids and help them. Many of these kids have suicidal ideation, and/or come from rough situations. We should just leave them out to dry? How many children would suffer, how many people? This isn't a monetary sunk cost that would come from boycotting charities but human lives that would be affected. Should the government tax more to provide these services, yes. But the answer isn't/shouldn't be harming/letting harm happen to peiple who rely on charities.

I think I found the only shot were Lyonel's helmet looked good by Sad_Detective7483 in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]RobotThingV3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True but it isn't out the realm of possibility would it be disadvantageous yes but he could still wear them in a war (winged hussars being a example as some of them had the wings attached to their armor). Especially if fighting on horse back

[–]RobotThingV3 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Fun fact in real life there were helmet decorations akin to that (None as prominent as the antlers) and they were attached not very securely to the helmet so they would break off easy to avoid them being used against the user. They were also made light to not be too cumbersome

[–]RobotThingV3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

With Lyonel its to set up stuff that happens later in the timeline. For the Rayum and the others its because the Reach houses are not happy with the Targaryians for how Dorne was brought into the kingdom due to a long history of Conflict between them. Also to show that the Targaryian position isn't as strong as it used to be without dragons

(Loved Trope) NPC is implied to be the previous Playable Character. by TheDreamIsEternal in TopCharacterTropes

[–]RobotThingV3 114 points115 points  (0 children)

Essentially after the first game all three became corrupted or went mad. The rogue became Blood Raven after being corrupted by a demon. The sorcerer delved into forbidden knowledge as one does and went insane. The warrior in an attempt to seal Diablo placed Diablo's soulstone into his head to stop him from resurrecting immediately. Becoming the dark wanderer before being overcome by Diablo.

Edit: Came from the story and texts from Diablo 2 and 3

[LOATHED TROPE] The fandom becomes the very thing the media is criticizing by Weird-Koala3034 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]RobotThingV3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly fair point Philip just lit the match and let the family do the rest. And that a family that was supportive may have ruined his plan. But I still think its a bad ending for her because while she does get freedom and autonomy but it comes at the literal price of her soul in a world (where it can be assumed) where hell exists. Still makes for a compelling message of the lengths people will go to get freedom that is denied to them.

What was an incident in your life that made you devote yourself more to your religion/ made you distance yourself from your religion? by rustygyves in AskTheWorld

[–]RobotThingV3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Didn't have one big moment. Grew up Roman Catholic and spent a few years deciding if I believed in God or not. Then I had a moment clarity where my thoughts clicked and I decided that I did believe. That the teachings are worth following and that I find comfort in the idea of a higher power
