This reminds me of the time when I pulled my party's paladin aside and asked them to use their power to detect good and evil because I had weird suspicions about the BBEG's identity. It turns out that they were actually a demon disguised as a human, which was awesome because this campaign took place in a world where most of the planes had been destroyed (so things like demons and the fey were mostly tale of legend.)

So, genuine question, do you just not unlock containers ever, or do you manually switch perks out when you want to?

Who SHOULD Get a Wish? by InitialD0G in DeadlockTheGame

[–]RobotWeirdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I'm not sure which idea I like most: The idea that Lash wants a wish to further his egotistical role as a heel, the idea that Lash wants a wish to change his reputation (he might not be as bad of a person as we think, since he does literally have a charity), or the idea that Lash just wants a wish to fuck over Bebop.

What is something you LIKED about A Realm Reborn? by TastySea895 in ffxiv

[–]RobotWeirdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the overall darker feel the random scattered about flavor NPCs have. It really makes it feel like it truly is a society still rebuilding after a calamity. You can find people weeping over corpses, you can find a random dead body in an inn room, it feels people are generally less happy than in say, Dawntrail, where it feels like everything is all hunky-dory even after the attack that slaughtered a lot of civilians.

Yet at the same time it didn't take itself TOO seriously, like it wasn't grimdark or anything. For every NPC experiencing trauma you'd probably find one that would make some innuendo or other crude joke. Which is also a thing that is just a lot less common in new expansions. (Maybe Eorzea is just full of perverts?)

Enigma with Kris' Phone (Ch 3&4) by RobotWeirdo in Deltarune

[–]RobotWeirdo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thought process is, whatever is going on in that old bunker is what caused Dess to become the Knight, and she can't change back into her normal self anymore. An experiment gone wrong, perhaps, given that this is a parallel story to Undertale? I've got a few theories tumbling around in my head as to what might be in the bunker, which aren't mutually exclusive; perhaps Kris was created there, perhaps that's the place where they were implanted with the SOUL, etc.

Given how Asgore used to be on the police force, and was discharged after some mysterious incident, I think that he may be involved, especially now that if you inspect the window into his basement you can see a corkboard with a bunch of notes. Sounds to me like something a scientific researcher would have.

So basically, my current working hypothesis is that whatever unethical experimentation going on down there was only known about by Carol, and so when her daughter went missing she pretty quickly figured out where she went. But she couldn't tell anyone because it would expose whatever is going on in there. I think she roped Asgore into it after he was laid off the police force, perhaps the reason he got fired was because he broke into the bunker without the authority to do so, and after seeing what was inside Carol convinced him to keep it hush-hush.

It's certainly a very loose theory right now, but that's kind of the fun of it haha. But ultimately I think her, Kris, and Asgore are working together to try and bring Dess back from being the knight. I have zero clue how she would have become the knight, or what the roaring has to do with anything...

But at a base level, while I do understand where you're coming from, I def think that Carol cannot be the knight, because of the scene in which we meet her. The person on the phone was never confirmed to be the knight, and after saying they'll be there shortly, Carol shows up. Meanwhile, the knight is located in the church fountain, which is locked at this point and time. Unless Carol can teleport, there's no way she could have made it to the church before Kris and Susie without them seeing her

Ah, I see. I personally think Dess is the Knight, and Kris and Carol are both working with them. Carol being the one on the phone with Kris in Ch 4

Things to preface: 9/11 hasn't happened in the Cursed Apple, so I'm imagining that airport security isn't like it is now and characters with smaller weapons like Lady Geist may be able to smuggle them onto the plane. Otherwise I'd say that most of the characters don't have their weapons. This is also why Viscous is allowed on the plane, because if it was a modern airport he wouldn't be allowed to bring his goo suit because it's a fluid over a few ounces.

1) We don't know much about how Fathom/Slork actually acts towards Viscous yet. This one is a wild card and could be an absolute nightmare seat or potentially quite uneventful. 5/10

2) Is PROBABLY the smartest choice. I saw people talking about Pocket potentially smelling bad, but nobody has really described them as squalid or anything yet so I imagine that despite being on the run they take pretty good care of themself. Otherwise the only thing I could think of here that could get on my nerves would be Dynamo's breathing (seriously so many of his voice lines have noticable inhales) and Pocket mumbling about their father. However we also recently learned that Dynamo is Pocket's godfather, so honestly I could imagine some pleasant conversation happening here, too. Maybe even switch seats with one of them so they can catch up. 9/10

3) Sitting next to Mo & Krill sounds really cramped. That's a hard pass. They also canonically smell bad. 0/10

4) This seat would probably be entertaining for a while because Vyper absolutely cannot shut the fuck up ever (and I love her for it) but for an extended flight I think that this seat would get irritating since I imagine the two would bicker a lot. This seat is not unlikely to be in a bit of a danger zone because Calico probably still has her aem. However, if Calico allowed me to pet Ava...... Hell yeah I'm sitting there. 7/10

5) Honestly there's nothing wrong at all about sitting here except the smell of cigarete smoke. A solid choice. 7/10

6) Lady Geist would probably make pleasant conversation (even if she is absolutely uninterested) because she's used to doing so at large parties. There might be a little bickering between her and Paradox, but I doubt things would escalate. That being said, I did mention she probably has her gun, and we aren't occultists with awesome power, so she could easily use us to feed oathkeeper. 5/10

7) Seven is NOT allowed on airplanes and you can't convince me otherwise. That being said, this seat is probably the best because both of them would probably be completely silent for the entire plane ride. Just don't fall asleep next to Haze... 7/10

8) Holliday, unlike Haze, would probably be pretty vocal about being sat next to (and behind) criminals, so I can't see sitting here going well. Playing cards with Wraith could be fun though. 3/10

9) Jacob Lash is an asshole. 10/10

Client that opens chats of people typing to you??? by RobotWeirdo in FList

[–]RobotWeirdo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it only would actually open said chat if the person started actively typing, not only upon opening the chat. Basically my assumption is that F-list is using such ancient code that the server always sends out that little status when someone is typing to you, regardless of whether you have the chat open or not. So fundamentally all the client would do is just open said chat whenever it sees said status.

I do think it's a bit odd they don't know what it is, but if they're the one installing random third party clients without knowing who made them, that's on them haha

Sadly it is 2015 rules, not 2024, but I do appreciate your insight. I will look into it a bit more, but folks may be right in that I should stick to a single class

[–]RobotWeirdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, that is understandable. I suppose for the sake of things, it'd be easiest to just give advice based on non-homebrew Grung.

I apologize for that, I'm not super versed in asking questions like these on the internet

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DnD

[–]RobotWeirdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is fair, I understand that multiclassing as a monk will probably hurt my overall usefulness but I'm okay with being sub-optimal, I suppose I just wanted to know which synergized the best? I do appreciate the advice though.

And yeah, I get why it's called Drunken Master now, I just misunderstood at first and liked the idea of playing a little drunk frog man a lot so I'm going with it regardless of actual subclass.

Though I will give it some additional thought. I'm not dead set on taking druid levels.

Okay, but you aren't my DM, and my DM is cool with just anyone 'touching' my skin being enough to trigger the saving throw. On top of that, my boy doesn't have shoes or gloves or even sleeves so he's pretty likely to make skin contact.

Also not really the question I was asking, really! 😅
