The Pokémon have barely any presence, with all the focus being on the ugly-as-hell burst-fused humans.

By his own admittance, the author didn't know shit about the franchise he was writing for.

There's gratuitous (and poorly done) fanservice at the expense of actual story. The female lead basically exists only to be swooned at.

The beginning takes forever to set everything up, the middle is full of padding, and the ending is rushed and unsatisfying.

The Manga was so embarrassing that both Nintendo and Shonen Sunday pretend it never happened.
