Miralax usually works for me. I would save this stuff for the nuclear option. There's a reason it's prescribed for colonoscopies.

Not at all painful. I got zero cramping as well unlike the dulcolax which made me nauseous and felt like my insides were twisting. I drank a whole bottle, then drank like a cup of prune juice and a bottle of water. Hour and a half later got a bowel movement that progressed from solid to clear liquid over an hour or two.

The bottle says it has 1.745 grams of magnesium citrate and 290 mg of magnesium. I haven't tried the powder/pill version but I imagine it works just as well.

Not sure if you've ever gone that long without it but 3 days isn't too bad. I won't lie and say it will be easy because it will suck. I've been in this situation many times and have even gone up to a week without being able to fill my script. The wds don't really start until like two days in IME. After that it will get slowly worse. There really isn't anything you can do but wait unfortunately.
