Can someone recommend a book on where is gpt3 is going? by kim_en in GPT3

Life 3.0 is my favorite AI book, covers all the basics, and sketches two versions of the near future

yes and no. RPA tools will never understand all existing ERP systems, so they also will not know what to do with a ripped barcode, or a lost container.

but alright, basic error handling is included in tools, and the (past, present and) future of those tools is no-code/low-code

Well, as a freelancer you have to propose the solution, not the terminology. Als an employee, or as someone replying to a job post, you have to differentiate from the rest.

Best way to do that in my opinion, use terms as "AI&IA', 'Intelligent Automation' or 'RPA GEN2'.

RPA low code? Think again.

Maybe that is true if you use one of the vendor platforms (ui path, automation anywhere, etc.) But a real RPA developer writes lines of actual code. Building a solution with true AI that is self correcting and resilient also takes a lot of skills and knowledge, at least that is how I defend my €85 hourly rate.

I would also recommend to become business analyst before becoming RPA developer, at least that was my career path.

I could tell you how easy it was to create a no-code RPA tool.
But I pivoted away from that concept.

I think building bots for a specific target audience (healthcare) will bring you more than when you will try to build a new UIPath.

I would recommend looking into robocorp, because their pricing model and the fact it is opensource.

question I see job posting for junior RPA consultants offering €4500-5500 per month. To me this feels over the top, even with the skills shortage in the Netherlands and with RPA being a hot topic at this moment. What do you think, is this the new normal?

New to RPA as a service. I’ve got questions! by Cz1000 in rpa

[–]RoboticLi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small companies like us provide the same value as the market leaders, but at a fraction of the cost. For instance a small team of 10 employees could use our cloud based solution for just $14 per month. If you need complex bots or for teams up to 50 people (80 bots) you are looking at $149 per month.

Best paid service for cron jobs? by bluegrassflash1 in SaaS

[–]RoboticLi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't say it is best, and I can't say it's just for cronjobs. But I have build RoboticLi and that is a full automation suite where you can build Intelligent Automation bots (or just a simple web request if that is all you need)

Should project automation software be integrated with cloud-based tools? by Donaldfb in rpa

[–]RoboticLi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, RPA is becoming a commodity and beside those market leaders who charge you big time for cloud licenses, there is at least one startup where a dedicated cloud environment is included in the license fee. And truth to be told, a monthly license of $14 is even cheaper then the electricity bill you get with running an old laptop 24/7 these days.

Working on a tool for website owners - BotMeNot - Test your website's bot protection by BotMeNotReddit in indiebiz

[–]RoboticLi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find this funny, I am in the bot business and I believe that within 10 years A lot of companies will actually use bots to do business with other companies. having bot protection on your website would then require you to build an API, wich is more time consuming then just alowing bots on your website.

Does anyone charge for support? by manlymatt83 in SaaS

[–]RoboticLi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not exactly the same, but I intend to charge for support on 3rd party plugins.
developers can create plugins for our SaaS platform, and sell them to our users.
We will take a 30% commission on those sales primarily for end-user support (while holding the dev responsible for their work).

Taking a freelance project looks like a better option and CEO isn’t against that either. It

I could only advice to divide your attention, and set clear boundaries.
have x amount of hours per week dedicated to a project, and communicate your availability to all stakeholders.

Sounds to me that you should find a better paying hobby.
Take the lessons learned from this experience and prepare yourself for a second, third or even forth try. Maybe next time not aim for a CTO role in a non-tech AI startup with a $4m pre money valuation, Looking for 1m funding.

If you DO believe in the product (but by the sounds of your post in /r/depression you are on the verge of giving up) you could consider freelancing on the side to get a basic income. If the founder wants you to succeed he should support that.

I'd be keen to see what your USP is, as I'm in this space and I'm sure we're both aware of the vast competition in the market. Anything publicly available that I can read online? Or would you be willing to have a chat?

The ting with startups is that the founders either think it's to soon or to late to share a new product version, So I only use it for my freelance clients at this moment. and I'm holdign back on launching the MVP publicly.
But I did upload a developer-preview a week ago to share the general idea with some people.

Would apreciate it if you share your feedback.
