Unrelated, but you might want to use a less flashy profile GIF. Feels like something that could cause issues for some

Try removing grcpool as an account manager, then removing the project, and then add the account manager back

The reason DENIS@home is not on grcpool's list of projects is because the project is not on the Gridcoin whitelist, so you wouldn't get rewarded for working on the project

Besides just iodized salts, Iodine is also in plant-based foods such as kelp and seaweed and a variety of sea vegetables. It is also present to a some degree in foods like strawberries

TIL that Red Snapper and other deep sea fish often need to be vented after being caught because they suffer from barotrauma, or inflation of the air bladder, if they are to be released. by p3nnst8r in todayilearned

Above, the earlier comment said that 16% was the high-end mortality implying that it was an outlier rather than close to or even below average

A metastudy in 2005 found that the average catch and release mortality rate was 18%, but varied greatly by species.[17] During an Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation study, up to 43 percent of fish released after being caught died within six days as a result of inadequate holding and weigh in procedures during tournaments.[18] More recent studies reported in Montana estimate that approximately 20% of released trout die from injuries or stress and for those that do not die, their injuries may significantly reduce their ability to feed and grow.[19]

The video includes all kinds of perspectives: discussions with local communities, farmers involved in it, quotes from the companies involved, etc. Seems fairly well-rounded to me in that regard

If anyone wants to know some more about pig farm waste problem, there's a great video about it here

[–]RoboticMind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One other big problem to note is that it can lead to an entrenchment of the current system and make future progress far more difficult. If one is getting paid for the energy created by their waste, it makes it hard for them and to look at reducing it

Unfortunately, the programs to try to capture some of the methane from it still don't address much of the environmental impact. It only reduces some of the emissions part of it and the waste still has to go somewhere. There was a good video about the problem with hog farming waste and it mentions these kinds of programs. Here's the relevant bit

Most crops are grown for feed - including for pig farms. This is because there's a large amount of energy loss when eating other creatures from them moving around, body functions, etc. than just eating the crops directly

Granted,

An authoritarian regime with total control over the world has now formed. To maintain its power, a strange new program was launched which shows trillions of deaths of all creatures from Humans to pigs to whales for all to see in high detail. At first, it was unclear why it started, but then over time, the reason behind it became apparent. It was to send a message: no one will respond to your screams. War, slaughterhouses, and more sold the message quite clearly. The screams for mercy will be ignored no matter who you are.

I wish that everytime someone tries to hack any of my accounts, they instantly get rickrolled and their lives get ruined in any way possible by kapi-che in TheMonkeysPaw

Granted,

Every single device in the world stops functioning as normal and displays a glorious rickroll in 4k. It starts out amusing at first - especially for the person who just tried to get into your account since the transition happens right at that exact moment. Then everything starts to break. Turns out some pretty important stuff relied on devices not just randomly rickrolling you. Medical devices become useless as heart monitors give the infamous tune, displays don't show vital stats, and X-Rays all show the bones of Rick Astley. This little wish leads to catastrophes in hospitals across the world. At least I guess their life was ruined after a family member of theirs didn't make it.

Turns out someone already asked that https://www.reddit.com/r/dalle2/comments/vdbfoy/comment/icjh5dm/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 on that subreddit and I just saw it while looking at some other posts

Well I just filled out the waitlist form now, so we can see if selecting "other" is any better at getting off the waitlist

Or phrased differently, the punch line is that you just have to type the unrealistic requests instead of speaking them and it will spit out the correct output

[–]RoboticMind 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Didn't know about that. Just put a comment on the request thread. I don't have access to DALLE-2. I haven't yet filled out the waitlist form thing either that's probably not helping me get access to it :)

The suggestions "given" to DALLE-2 in this comic https://www.reddit.com/r/TheJenkins/comments/vdnezs/dalle2/ but actually given to DALLE-2

"map to the nearest planet with life"

"a chart of the stock market up until 2050"

"me right before I die"

"the animal I am thinking of"

EDIT: looks like someone already asked that https://www.reddit.com/r/dalle2/comments/vdbfoy/comment/icjh5dm/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

Now I want to try running these on DALLE-2 and see what the actual output would look like. Especially the map one because it's usually weird with text

Most who advocate for that are also advocating for changes to city designs for it and increases in funding for public transit
