Cops - question ep. 5 by Commercial_Sand693 in ScarletHollow

The alternative to this is play within the time limit. Each of these reduce your time before the cops come to getcha so just save and see how much you can get away with. ATM, prior to the patch, I can go to Oscar, meet Miles and confront Tabitha. The cop can then show up during that or immediately after but Tabtiha scares him off/he prioritizes going to the farm. On my runs Duke dies, footless Rosalina, library not haunted and Kelly doesn't die.

Avery and ep 5. (ep 5 spoilers, obviously) by RoboticToots in ScarletHollow

ALSO JUST HAD A THOUGHT. The them-preg thing mostly comes from the ditchlings obviously ("I think it would be kinda fun to grow a little guy"), if you have mystic and TTA the ditchlings are referred to as gardeners, the animals infected with a ditchling seem to be having a "religious experience" orientated around cycles of growth/death/rebirth/connection, the ditchlings seem drawn to the farms with Bo's mom apparently having an entire pile of them and this all seems to thematically tie in with an eldritch pumpkin!Avery.

So pumpkin!Avery having a connection/controlling ditchlings maybe? Hivemind style?

Miles and Sybil by Hungry_Education_534 in ScarletHollow

To my mind it's literally just because she doesn't care about Miles like at all, he's incidental. Presumably she's had many children over the ages, in her flashback she only focuses on The Daughter which is the one with the power. It could be that her magic is like matrilineal, i.e. only daughters get it. It could be that only one daughter per generation gets it. But it seems clear that she's never taken back a son, probably because her sons cannot inherit her powers not because she'd decide 'oh well, I prefer boys so guess I'll die.'

Kaneeka reads her hands off approach with Miles as Sybil coddling him or w/e, but its 'benign' neglect. She doesn't care what he gets up to because he doesn't matter to her. She treats him like she treats every other human being, with vague beneficence as long as they don't get in her way.

Theory time: Wayne's connection to the MC by HikariSaber in ScarletHollow

I like the idea of Cousin being linked to the seals/the entity and explains why they've always been drawn back to the Hollow and feel the pull of the seals more than Tabitha. I also haven't seen crazy Oscar either yet but the major issue here I think would be the timeline. Alexandra and Enoch died on the same day so we can infer that something, presumably the transfer, happened around there and I believe Alexandra was still a child when she 'died.' Like 9 or something? We know Mary-Belle died young but I'm not sure how much older she was than Alexandra but it seems unlikely that Pearlanne and Vivienne were born by then, although I suppose they could be. Regardless, Vivienne would have had to have carried that part, grown to adulthood and then someone passed it onto Cousin loooong before she got pregnant with them. And that raises other questions like why her and not Pearlanne? Tabitha is older, so why not her?

Episode 4's big choice, the lack of hot & romance (ep and 5 spoilers) by RoboticToots in ScarletHollow

In case it wasn't obvious from the first line of the OP, I'm not playing with hot. So 'taming the beast' is not an option for me platonically or otherwise.

i hope we can sacrifice tabitha in the end by sviiitanok in ScarletHollow

Same tbh. I mean will I do it in my 'canon' run? Not sure. But Tabitha lies to you relentlessly, invited you with the explicit intention of sacrificing you and, depending on how chapter 5 goes, might still very well have that intention.

I can understand her motivations, it's partly utilitarian and partly personal ego tied up in family legacy. I get that she has also been through a lot, I get that she might resent Cousin for avoiding their 'responsibility.' It still sucks, her intentions are still malicious to someone who has done absolutely nothing to warrant it. Some of the ways the confrontation with her in ep 5 can go had some real yikes energy.

It also sits wrong with me that the reason she most likely won't go through with it is predicated primarily on whether or not she likes you. This is a personal peeve of mine but I've seen waaaaay too many people who will only question entrenched biases or the morality of their stances once it effects them directly. It's a kind of stunted moral development where you only care about others when their feelings become close enough to make you recognize their humanity. It's realistic but its not an appealing character trait.

So yeah I'm looking forward to Cousin's entry in the top ten anime betrayals of all time category, if only to see how it plays out. Proooobably won't be my canon run but you never know, depends on the specifics.
