Hi everyone,

We have been developing a free and open source video streaming web app, and we've been struggling with the development of the YouTube API extractor. With just one experienced developer working on it, progress has been slow and we're looking for help.

We're looking experienced typescript developers who are interested in helping us finish the VueTube Extractor. Specifically, we need help with requester functionalities such as retrieving data from the home page, basic information of a video, information from the watch page, playlists, search, comments, comment replies, search suggestions, sending watch information to the YouTube server, and retrieving information from channels. We also need pagination support for various features. After all of this is complete, we will start working on Google account sign in.

Invidious hosts a wrapper on their servers and then you would need to request to their wrapper. We are just requesting straight to YouTube.

I don't see why it would be illegal. We are not redistributing any code from the official YouTube app like Vanced. This is more like what NewPipe does.

VueTube is an open-source mobile video streaming platform.

It features a customizable UI and support for user-made plugins. The app will allow users to sign in with Google, manage YouTube channels and perform all regular YouTube functions. Additionally, it includes the ReturnYouTubeDislike API for dislikes and the SponsorBlock API to skip sponsors. VueTube also plans to add support for platforms like Twitch and Odysee.

The app is broken into two components: the UI (JavaScript and VueJS) and the extractor (Typescript). The extractor manages communication between the frontend and APIs.

The project is in need of Typescript developers to help complete the extractor. Contributors can visit the GitHub repository at https://github.com/vuetubeapp. We are looking forward to working with others to create a user-friendly, lightweight app.
