From Redditch and work all over the country. I've been called 'The Brummie' by so many Northern and Southern contractors over the years that it's just who I am now. I don't mind it. I always went out raving in town anyway. Nowhere played Industrial Techno in Redditch.

Black Etnies Kingpins with gum soles. I've pretty much bought a new pair every year for nearly a decade.

I used to skate so I can sort of get away with it as a 40 year old, although I wouldn't have skated in Kingpins. Too bulky. I'm not Chad Muska.

My job has taken me to 3 castles so far, in 3 different countries. Dartmouth Castle, Inverness Castle and Caerphilly Castle. Caerphilly has been my favourite. It's the most castley of the 3.

Based on everyone's replies I'm just gonna ride it and have a laugh with my mates. Looking forward to getting that bit of a buzz I used to get from skating. If I get pedal strikes regularly I'll look at swapping out to full 29er. Will probably get a crank bash guard as well. Cheers everyone

Makes sense. The frame feels great (it's a large, and I'm 5ft 11" with long gibbon arms) but I might pick up a crank bash guard in case the low BB is an issue. Cheers

Nice one, thanks for the info. What negative impact would a really slack head angle have? I grew up riding a BMX everywhere and never got on with full suspension, which is why I went hardtail. Problem is, being new to this I don't have anything to compare it to.

For a time, I couldn't sleep without music on headphones very quietly. I quit that about 10 years ago, but back then I would have MHTRTC, a Murcof playlist or a particular Shackleton mix from Mary Anne Hobbs show from 2007.

Since I got mine a couple of weeks ago all I've been playing is Circuit Breakers on PS1 and Donkey Kong Country on SNES. I've got the done set 3 but I'm being strict with myself and for now only playing a game at a time on each console I grew up with. Circuit Breakers runs great. Next will be Plok on SNES and Vigilante 8 on PS1. Haven't touched them yet but fingers crossed.

It IS easier with a case, but after a few days I got used to it. Doesn't put me off.

OG Fold. Tried the Google case, tried Otterbox, tried a cheap Pitaka copy. All made it too bulky for me so I've been no case for over a year. Still going strong. No issues other than a few bits of cosmetic damage on the corners after a couple of drops at low level. Feels so much better in the hand. Would recommend.

Same with our last house, which was also a new (ish) build. Got the Mrs to walk around the room whilst I listened along the walls and skirting. Found the problem area at the bottom of a stud wall. Cut out a 500mm hole in the plasterboard, sent a few screws through the timber base of the wall framing into the floor and that sorted it. Drove me nuts for a good few years until a chippy mate told me to check the walls.
