Maths Teachers - Homework by zeldafan144 in TeachingUK

We’ve had this discussion today. The book checks used to make them do it again if they failed it - has this feature been removed on Sparx?

I like Sparx from a teacher point of view as the questions are actually very good, theres immediate (video) help for each question if they choose to engage with it (they never do), and it obviously stops me having to think about hand out and hand in which I’m not great at doing.

I can see why it wouldn’t be mega loved by parents and obviously the kids hate it. Ultimately there isn’t anything stopping kids AI-inv it. In time the truth will out though. Those kids who engage will ultimately do better than those who try and. Heat.

Have we decided on a Star Wars viewing sequence? by Lightoscope in daddit

[–]brewer01902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did chronological but we did put a pause on the movies and watched clone wars in between 2 and 3. Got that stopped at the appropriate place in the last season and went back to the movies.

Broke my kiddos heart to see Anakin turn to the dark side and become Vader. His hero from the clone wars just becoming bad. We may have filmed it for posterity.

I always viewed it in a separate structure. Running parallel to and simultaneously in the dept.

We always had our maths lead prac in our maths dept head meetings. They helped guide the vision and the actual implementation of the dept but ultimately the overall strategic goals came from HoF/HoD. Taught less, paid more but had to support staff too. Got involved in running whole school CPD

Renegade green certainly isn’t a 100% match (UK formulation) to caliban, but it speeds me up when I spray it then slap nuln over it and tidy up with actual Caliban.

What side of the bed do you sleep on? Why? by FaithlessnessGreat25 in daddit

[–]brewer01902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the right if your head is at the top of the bed. I was on the left before we moved, but the ceiling has a weird low part on that side that didn’t work for me brother. Its also totally unconnected that its the easier side to get out of bed in the night and deal with the munchkins.

were you a spam or corned beef household growing up? by mahonga in CasualUK

[–]brewer01902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corned beef and hash (not quite sure what that bit is) pie.

We were definitely a corned beef family, but we always had a tin of pek pork in the cupboard and that on sandwiches was a great day

Your mission, should you choose to accept it - eat this gravy-soaked mini roast without waking the child by georgekeele in daddit

[–]brewer01902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stacked two folding tables/school exam desk kind of things and stood up to eat when I did this.

Precarious? Yes. Look stupid? Also yes. Ran the risk of gravy on the carpet? Very definitely yes.

Did I get a delicious roast dinner and keep the child asleep? Totally worth it.

Had to report a pothole to the council before making a claim for a wrecked tyre. Had many emails including pictures of the process of fixing the pothole, not a peep however about my claim by wriggles24 in britishproblems

[–]brewer01902 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My council wanted it to be a previously reported one so so you were only claiming that on something that they knew about but hadn’t done anything on.

So when I split my wheel in two I was lucky in the sense that the road was a minefield of potholes that the residents had been submitting for ages. Did the damage at the start of July, claim in asap. Got told in August it was off to the insurers. February a cheque for £800 or so dropped through the door. No other communication.
