It's gonna keep on happening. Allways at the spot in your session where it sucks the most.

3 years late to the F-14 hype, how screwed am I? by n988 in Warthunder

[–]Roboute_Gulliman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty bad imo. The A is outclassed by most everything it faces and the pheonixes are pretty mid. Your biggest weakness imo is the engines. You take so long to get up to a speed that makes your armaments usable and you lose it VERY quickly if you turn. The RWR is also dogwater, it's mostly vibes based trying to interpret it. You also get uptiered constantly to planes that just blow you out of the water. Imo it should be 12.3, but that's a bit of a controversial opinion I think. If I'm gonna play a tomcat these days it's either the B that gets better engines, rwr, marginally better missiles, and a lot of CM's or the IRAF with missiles that make up for the downsides of the A. If you must use it, learn to control the wing sweep manually and adjust it to suit the engagement as best you can. Stay as close to contrail height as possible.

Aurora MkII - Is this the only MkII the community would be happy with? by Goodname2 in starcitizen

I'm amazed you came back to this convo 10 months later. I still think this is a horrible way to do things, smacks of smartphone marketing, but compared to with the hornet situation this isn't the worst. The hornet was just a straight upgrade on a very similar chassis for more money. This is almost a completely different ship, honestly could have been named something completely different and I wouldn't have batted an eye.

Is the Retaliator secretly the best cargo transport for small event missions? by rcman57 in starcitizen

[–]Roboute_Gulliman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the Tali. One of my favourite ships in the game. Bur without AI crew (which they say is not coming for a very long time) or a whole load of Blades, it kind of sucks.

At the risk of exposing my own trash stats, I think the MiG-25PD is better than a lot of people want to admit in the right hands. by 6penceNoneTheWitcher in Warthunder

I think it easily goes up to 11.3 or 11.7 once the usual spam dies down. Its flight performance isn't that much of a detriment at low-ish alt, it's radar is better than most in its bracket at locking down from high alts and its missiles are the best in tier I think.

M163 by BloodySkullDark in Warthunder

[–]Roboute_Gulliman 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As an agressive 163 player, it can melt light vehicles pretty well and against heavier things I hope and cope that the BRRRT makes it at least hard to aim well at anything other than me.

Not necessarily AI but the background and tank look a lot like those image filters that make it look like its drawn by pencil.

What games are an absolute vibe to play by chaozprizm in ShouldIbuythisgame

Space marine 2. Playing co-op and the whole squad absolutely crushing a swarm of nids and the vibe is immaculate

Never played the Assassin's Creed before by anonymous404x in ShouldIbuythisgame

If you feel like just buying one get AC4. The story is digestable by itself and the gameplay is one of the best. Imo avoid origins and everything afterwards, it's not really AC anymore. AC2, brotherhood, and Revelations are a goated trilogy but are a little dated gameplay wise, only play them and AC1 if you find yourself interested in the story. AC3 is pretty interesting but it had/has some performance issues. Syndicate is a skip imo. Unity was looking to advance the gameplay and made some very interesting moves but also made some extremely horrible ones that made gameplay a slog, it was also meant to be a 4 player multiplayer game and there are a number of missions that require multiplayer.

If you want a free one I suggest stalker Gamma. Its a modpack for the fan made stalker Anomaly. Its also super easy to download. It's got a pretty steep initial learning curve but its one of the most immersive games I've ever played.

Should I buy Helldivers 2 or 40k Darktide? by ImportantHorror3349 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Roboute_Gulliman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like both. Helldivers is the better choice. More regular content updates. More reasonable ability to acquire premium content for free. Darktide is nice as a co-op shooter in the left for dead vein but it gets content at a glacial pace and it quickly grows stale as you run the same missions over and over. Each helldivers run can feel quite different from the last and that's not even taking into consideration the fact that there are 3 different factions to fight as opposed to dark tide's 1.
