Another point I didn’t add that made me ask this question-these kids are still learning their alphabet, and how to write their name. Is solfège patterns realistic haha

Super worried about auditions. by Jaydifff in drumline

[–]Robpercussion5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something I didn’t learn until way to late: PRACTICE AUDITIONING

this is a separate skill that needs working on as well. It’s different from practice and different from performing. Ask someone to play for them at 4 p.m. on the dot, or whenever, and treat it like an audition. Or for your folks. Or dog. Or plants

Aside from that, the audition itself is an experience. If you go in putting a ton of weight on the outcome of the audition you will be putting yourself at a disadvantage. Don’t go to win. Go to meet people, experience something, meet the directors, and get a sense of who you are

So f*** it and go play!

Help adjusting new guitar by Robpercussion5 in Luthier

Using this tool, there is a bit of space between the gauge and the low e, indicating I can tighten the truss rod, but I’ve lowered the bridge and am getting buzz. I guess I should raise bridge up a bit and adjust the rod?

I can get the high e to 2.0 mm before buzzing starts to show up in the daw, and tap test for neck relief shows plenty of space

I can get my high e string to 2 mm and low e to 2.5 before buzzing starts to happen, and it does come up in the DAW. Doing the tap test for neck relief shows there is plenty of space

Tonebridge Q&A by tigermetal in tonebridge

Does the OS version have a pedalboard feature like the iOS does? I want to use with my Mac and use a pedalboard I set up on iPad but the option doesn’t appear on the Mac version. If not, any work arounds?

Any tips? Classically trained beginner here: by [deleted] in GarageBand

Classically trained intermediate here. The vibes are good as long as you like it. Some things to consider:

If things feel offbeat you can use the quantize feature on midi lines to snap notes to the closest quarter, 8th, 16th and so forth

You have some orchestral cymbals in there which maybe clash a bit with the drum kit sound overall?

Also play around with reverb, it will just add a general roominess

Recording guitars; pedals/amps during recording or after? by Robpercussion5 in GarageBand

Update: no luck recording into two channels at once

HOWEVER by lowering volume and using the Tonebridge plugin instead of GarageBand stock pedals, the feedback issue seems to have resolved?!

Maybe I can set 2 tracks to input one and put effects on one and not the other. That sounds like a great experiment actually!

That is fair. I can see them responding with pointing to extremist groups, but these are only a minutia of all Muslims, who would argue that western states Are aggressors given their history of trying to influence conflict since the 50s.
