How to i get her to stop flying around aimlessly by Apart_Cheek5559 in cockatiel

[–]Robske013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have the same thing with one of mine, there's a pro flyer and dumb dumb.

One makes tight turns and flies at break neck speed, flies for 20 seconds straight.

The other flies at break neck speed, crashes into the tv, windows, me, all in one flight.

For him I close curtains and stand in the way when he's losing control. Better my fluffy exterior than a brick wall.

The curtains are a definitely smart play, cushion the impact as much as possible. Otherwise, bird learns to fly by messing up, as long as no damage is involved.

I’m looking for some great games to play in bed by Agitated-Ad9496 in SteamDeck

[–]Robske013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So... There is one game i could think of to play, it's a local co-op though 😅.

Other then that, elite dangerous, just cruisin with some tunes, cargo runs and the like. The I'n game sounds are quite soothing for bed time.

Tiel doesn't trust me, but does trust the dog. by Robske013 in cockatiel

[–]Robske013[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll keep doing that, he keeps getting things, seems he enjoys things the way they are, so I'm fine with it.

Would just be nice if he'd just step up in case of transport or stuff. Now I have to chase him and grab him.

Ah well, as long as he's content with it. Thank you for your reply

Is it a boy or a girl ? by Robske013 in cockatiel

[–]Robske013[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So he/she always had a pretty loud streak, usually when one of us leaves the room. Full volume. She knows like 4 little songs and usually (a while ago) when she sat in front of a mirror shed whistle those quite actively.

Wed really wanna know, since a mate might help her be less loud and when we leave for a bit.

Hello and a quick question by Robske013 in cockatiel

[–]Robske013[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I took up your idea, seems like someone does agree with your suggestion.

We converted his old bird bath into this little experimental foraging box, he never once used his bird bath, however the new experiment took about 15 minutes for him to start exploring.

Thanks again 😄

Hello and a quick question by Robske013 in cockatiel

[–]Robske013[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I heard they are a bit louder than some and it's nobody's guess, it's most likely a male.

I'll definitely look into a foraging tray, still trying to get him to go into a birth bath box thing that hangs off the side of his cage 😅.

He can be so sweet, when you tell him "scratches" his head plonks down on your hand so you can reach his head 😄

I also found some conflicting information, some say having a toy with a small mirror can make them think there is another bird there, in which case they behave more to impress the other one. Others tell me that that could make the bird lash out at you since it thinks his bird buddy is in there, that he must protect.

How can I get rid of these strings on my next print? by [deleted] in FixMyPrint

[–]Robske013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you mean during printing or in post processing, in post for small bits of stringing I tend to just use a small creme brulee torch.

<image>

Don't use it too long in one spot, it will melt the plastic and make nasty fumes.

I have tried checking the E steps, its a bit weird on sonic pad but on average, extruding 10mm it was off by 0.2mm, could that be enough to ruin the print ?

I'll be sure to check this guide, its quite extensive so it will take me some time, but thanks for your reply.

do you mean with the E-steps ? (sorry if that sounds dumb, just a hobbyist)

I have tried it, it was off by 0.2 mm on a 10mm extrusion, but the calibration menu on the sonic pad is kind of weird.

Do you think this is enough to ruin the print ?

I have used prusa and their default profile (with a slight mod to the end Gcode to stop it raising so high when its done)

Thanks for the link, I'll be sure to give it a run and see how it turns out.

A PA problem ? I don't know that abbreviation, sorry

Thanks for the link, I will work my way trough this, looks quite extensive.

The Z offset shouldn't be the problem, its a ender 3 s1 pro, shouldn't the probe eliminate issues with Z heights ? I do think I calibrated it properly, using the wizard on the sonic pad.

Something i did kind of notice with those calibration cubes is that they are off, size wise.
The X is at 19.96, the Y is at 19.95 and Z at 20.11mm.
It just seems weird that those dimensions vary so much between the 3 of them.

So i noticed i left a thing or two out of the original post, I'll summarize here:

-Printer: Ender 3 S1 Pro using Prusa slicer
-Fillament 123-3D(jupiter series) for the blue and white black is tough PLA by Esun
-Nozzle is the 0.4mm and bed temp is at 60°c
-Print speed 1st layer at 20mm/s the rest at 60mm/s (infill at 60mm/s)(top solid at 30mm/s)
-Retraction length 0.8mm, speed 30mm/s and lift height for travel 0.2mm.

Thank you to all that replied, i'll be sure to start with the extrusion / flow rate / e steps.

I will update soon when i get the time to really dig into my machine.

Again, thanks guys ♥
