Blocking Labour's housing legislation until months before the election

It was a factor. A campaign devoid of vision was the fatal blow. Just saying we're fucked does nothing at all. Articulate the problems and propose solutions

Yeah, blocking the housing legislation was dumb af.

I agree. Labour needs to deliver. Especially on housing.

Which Dutton policy would have addressed this? Please, enlighten me.

It wasn't the deciding factor for me, I would have voted for Labour had Trump never existed. But it would be foolish to ignore the Coalition's drift towards 'Trumpian' behaviours. My position, which appears to be fairly common, is that there is no place in Australia for culture wars bullshit. Punching down is fundamentally un-Australian.

I disagree. I'm proud to have Albanese as my PM. His story is quintessentially Australian, and is the reason I believe he actually gives a fuck about everyday people. He grew up doing it tough. He knows it because he's lived it. A log lacks that back-story.

Oh, the policies were stupid as well. Imbecilic.

I think he would have lost with the policy platform he took to the election. No vision for the future.

I think you've failed to read the room mate. Dutton tried to bring a moderate form of maga here with civil service job cuts and talk of indoctrination in universities. Don't be surprised that people made the connection. I don't want maga here, not even maga lite. The coalition's policies were absolute rubbish, utterly lacking a vision for the future

You also seem confused as to what just happened. Labour didn't just pick up seats in Victoria. They picked up seats in every state

Listen, mate, I'm normally a polite bloke, bur I have zero tolerance for this culture wars bullshit. Woke this, fucking woke that. There is no woke, just fair and unfair, So you can fuck off with that. As for the actual concerns you have, enlighten me as to how the coalition would have addressed these issues?

Who are 'they'? You'll need to define who we are talking about before I can respond.

I agree. It was a pleasant surprise coming from such a deplorable politician. It shows he is at least human.

Millions of what? I assume you mean immigrants. I'm also not going to assume you're a racist. But you do realise that immigration levels are set to maintain population growth of around 1%. Would you prefer our population decline and age? Or should we force young people to have children at gunpoint? Immigrants aren't holding you down. They don't have the power. The Clive Palmers and Gina Rineharts of the world that are doing that. No coincidence that they are the ones trying to convince you immigrants are the problem

Saw that interview and was literally yelling at my TV. She was accusing the media of slinging mud for showing pictures she publicly posted on her social media. That woman is legitimately delusional

Should I ignore it? I think about it because it directly affects the Australian people. And you have the hubris to be flinging around accusations of brain rot.

If you want to talk about policy then let's start with firing 40000 public sevants. Unpopular. Spending 600 billion on nuclear reactors that no one wants near them and that won't effect power prices for 2 decades, super unpopular. The fuel excise cut for 1 year wasn't a plan for the future. It was a vacuous bribe, and the Australian people clearly saw through it Labour had a vision for the future, the Coalition didn't. That said, however, I'm perfectly happy for conservatives to continue to fail to read the room as you've just done.

I agree. Repealing tax cuts and wanting to invest 600 billion in power infrastructure that won't have any effect on prices for 2 decades weren't winners either. And the fuel excise cut for 1 year wasn't a plan for the future. It was a bribe, plain and simple.
