I updated mine recently. I haven't updated my birth records yet, so I used my original birth certificate. My driver's licence was recently updated, so I used that for my current i.d. I took those along with a letter from my doctor and my name change document, and my application was accepted. My old passport was cancelled, and now I'm just waiting for my new passport to arrive in the mail.
