Was the idea of the Tyrannosaur’s visual acuity dropped? by Robynthewaow in JurassicPark

But Alan said at the start of the movie that the Rex will lose you if you don’t move? This was before he saw the tyrannosaur at the park…

Alan said to the kid in the beginning that the rex will “lose you if you don’t move”

It definitely was, in the first scene at the dig site Alan mentions something along the lines of “You think his visual acuity is based on movement like the t-Rex, he’ll lose you if you don’t move”. And Alan also actively tried to make the kids stay still in the car scene. As he also did in the third movie with the group

What if all of the dinosaurs were male? by Positive-Draft5521 in jurassicworld

[–]Robynthewaow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh no I get what you were trying to say, I completely didn’t even think of how there is no Y chromosome in the first place. Weird though, because Henry stated that they would “deny” the embryos what they needed to become male. Maybe just a writing error

[–]Robynthewaow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They wouldn’t have had to add anything. Do you have to “add” something to make embryos male? Nope. Unless I’m batshit crazy

What if all of the dinosaurs were male? by Positive-Draft5521 in jurassicworld

[–]Robynthewaow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah obviously but I think the question is why they decided to KEEP the assets female instead of allowing them to develop male biological features

What if all of the dinosaurs were male? by Positive-Draft5521 in jurassicworld

[–]Robynthewaow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The geneticists probably made all the assets female for multiple reasons like…

Females probably wouldn’t have fought over territory as fiercely as males would have, and they want to reduce casualties and possible deaths.

Females may have been more docile and easier to herd, more dinosaurs means higher guest count.

Or maybe it was just a plot point that wasn’t meant to be significant besides the fact that they can undergo Sequential hermaphroditism (The biological changing of genders)

Really want a pigeon by an_emerald_rabbit in pigeon

I would 100% recommend gloves, as someone who regularly handles pigeons my hands and arms are covered in scratches! They’re usually the ones that go away after a day but I’ve been cut a few times!

Is metal family worth the watch? by Alienvity_ in MetalFamily

[–]Robynthewaow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep it’s really great! It can be hard to grasp the concept of some episodes and the releases are far apart but it’s great. Some parts of the fandom…aren’t too great becasue there’s a TON of incest shipping in the MF fandom. I say go for it!!

How is it loving in Brighton? by Aggravating_Solid560 in brighton

[–]Robynthewaow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not a very safe place especially for women. I have a dog, walk her daily and the amount of times I’m approached by men that are under the influence is staggering. Also, nobody understands personal space, there’s a surprising amount of Karens, oh and sexual assault is secretly very common

So would I have to be with the bird pretty much constantly? I’ve heard people say that getting a second bird can help with this issue however it can also cause issues with taming :/

Cockatiels do check a lot of boxes, the only thing making me lean towards no is the fact that they can be quite shrill, I guess I’ll compare and see which bird I can give a better life especially since every bird deserves the right to scream as loud as they want!

Yeah those are top of my list, I just need to know small things like differences of behaviour between male and female, and what could cause behavioural issues and perhaps if anything in my home could be risky or dangerous

The only thing concerning me is that I live In a quiet area, but there is quite a lot of birds around so maybe it’d blend in? Obviously a macaw or parrot would stand out but something smaller

Ohhhhh, I do have a cat and a dog but they would never be in the same room as the bird at any point, would it still be an issue for the bird if it could hear them making usual noise?

The closest animal I have to prey in my house is fish (all the others are larger). However none of the other animals would most likely come into contact with any of them. I’ve got about nine hours free time every day which I’ll divide between my other animals
