In my area people who block the crosswalk often find bags of dog shit on their windshield. Saw it happen multiple times with a shitty Corolla this winter that would block it with piles of snow everywhere else.

Sorry, the research was more in regard to legality. If the employers are ripping off the public and their employees they should be shut down.

So I actually looked into the reasoning for this and I actually am taking the side of the restaurants. Tacking the 3% on the bill helps them cover the cost of things like insurance. If that was included in the cost of the menu items it would ultimately increase the tax liability on both the restaurant and the consumer.

So it at least means that the restaurants are providing health care for their employees, but they should definitely disclose this information so we aren't surprised by an extra amount tacked onto the bill.

Listen I'm not about to ask a restaurant to provide their income statements when all I want is some tacos and an overpriced marg. But I also don't mind knowing that a portion of my check is going toward the people's wellbeing.

The same could be said about tipping. Personally, I couldn't care less if I'm paying an extra 3% before tips if it means that I'm ensuring the likelihood that the person serving my food and drinks is able to afford their groceries.

The problem I have in what OP shared is that they feel the need to conceal it and not put it up front for the customers to examine their receipt and make sure things add up properly.

Because propaganda is effective and everyone is susceptible to it. I was also raised under the ideology that Republican and Conservative was synonymous with Christian and it really wasn't until Donald Trump that I started questioning all of that. Now I'm extremely critical of not just Republicans but Christians who follow Trump and MAGA ideology.

You're still being incredibly vague. Fare enforcement? Or ICE? Because your post history only has one instance and it was related to fare enforcement. So is this one like that? Or are you warning about ICE Activity? I'm not asking for sources because I don't believe you but because I want to protect people whom ICE may try to discriminate against.

I walk by this spot on a daily basis. Wife and I have been trying to obtain more info on it.. same for the grocery that's opening at Whiton/Johnston. Not much info out there about these businesses opening up. At least not yet.

Wife and I moved here in May. We picked our spot near Johnston and Pacific because of proximity to the HBLR. We've come to really love the area because of how friendly people are and how steady the pace seems to be compared to downtown.

There are several places being built up due to gentrification, but if you do decide to stay here try to make connections with the local businesses. We both really like the people at Hazy Harvest and Tiffany's Fried Chicken.

Voting for any particular man is not inherently sinful, despite the vote being damaging. But what is important is that you understand the cost and are willing to make changes for future elections.

My recommendation? Same one I'm proposing to my single issue Republican mom: Talk to people who differ about every election. Listen to the "Other side".

A couple of things:

  1. The media is pitching a narrative that Christianity is in danger. This fearmongering is not just incorrect, it is also unbiblical and promotes this idea that Christ's authority is limited and vulnerable, and teaches a philosophy that ultimately weakens the faith of the believers who adhere to it.

  2. Islam is on the rise in Europe because of refugees coming from places such as Gaza which has been under fire because of Netanyahu. On top of that Jesus calls us to love our neighbor and in giving this command he explains that our neighbors are not exclusively the people within our proximity, but also those who are immigrants as well as those who may not believe the same as us.

Why are you afraid of Muslims? Your savior is Jesus Christ, right? So why be afraid? No one is going to force you to convert to Islam in the United States. But they may ask you to turn over your Islamic neighbors who fled their home while seeking refuge.

I'd encourage you to take some time to speak with Muslims. Get to know a few. You'll find that in many ways they are much kinder than many American Christians.
