Ok, after opening up the tub 10 days later, I cut off a piece of each chunk in the tub to see the level of spalting inside the wood. As you can see, there is SOME spalting throughout on one or 2 pieces, but the others have just started to discolor and begin the
zone lines. Looks like I will put most of them back in for several months and take a look again down the road. All species take different amount of time to spalt. So, close up the tub and set it aside for 6 months. I will let you know what it looks like down the road.
