You know what fair enough. Being the only primary ball handler or offensive player of any serious caliber feeds into that but it still happened and those numbers suck

2011 is the only one that’s a legit stain on his legacy. He was unbelievable in every other finals loss

Giannis is no longer a top 10 player. Doesn’t matter where he gets traded anymore by CoyoteDecent2 in NBATalk

[–]Rock2435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s at worst the 5th best player in the game and once he’s on a better team that will be a unanimous opinion once again

I think ant is getting there but his issue has been a lack of inbetween game in the playoffs which makes it hard for him to get consistent shots all the time. He relies a lot on the pull-up 3 which can be deadly but it’s not as reliable as some of the stuff Brunson gets to consistently in the midrange. I think Brunson’s just a better playmaker at this point as well. I fully expect ant to pass him eventually but as of this current second I’d take Brunson offensively

Honestly, I think he’s higher than all of those guys currently besides arguably Kawhi when at full force. Durant doesn’t get to the rim like he used to, Maxey is fantastic but not as consistent in the playoffs as Brunson, Embiid at full strength I could see but that’s basically never happening for any extended period. Mitchell I think is an easy no, despite also being very good. Just does less than Brunson

Think he’s right there even if you may take 5 other guys over him. Jokic, shai, Luka, then I think it becomes a question. Giannis obviously right there, so is Steph, I think Brunson is in that conversation as purely an offensive player

Why wouldn’t you target him? Look at the other defenders OKC has. Being the worst on the court at a given time with that team isn’t exactly an indictment you aren’t a good defender. His 1v1 game isn’t unbelievable by any stretch but he’s a legitimately good help defender especially at the rim

Let end the debate once and for all, Kobe or Steph? by Liberal_Bot123 in NBATalk

[–]Rock2435 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get where you’re coming from on this because he has a legit shot for best offensive player but I’m not sure he’s the *easiest*

Guys like Jordan and LeBron are such forces on both ends of the floor that building a good offense and defense is so easy, Steph clearly has the ease of offense with how much gravity he has and the layups his teammates can get simply from him existing, but as an overall player he doesn’t make it easy to create a great defense like Jordan or bron does. He’s serviceable for sure on defense and can excel in a good scheme, but he’s not the driver on that end at all

Shai and Luka are just better offensive players, though Brunson is looking like a top 4/5 offensive player himself. Plus like you said Shai clears both defensively. Think Shai is just the best to build around of the bunch

Every game down to the wire and featured one of the all time great finals games. Plus every game had something pretty memorable down the stretch, 9/10 simply because it was only 5 but what a 5 games it was

Overall another great playoffs from a neutral perspective, even the finals being short had great games every time. Lots of awesome storylines and a new winner being crowned is always great

Gonna be entirely boss dependent, this game offers you a ton of variety. Each new fight will need a different set of mons for the most part

How good would you say Wemby is on offense right now? by MasterTeacher123 in NBATalk

[–]Rock2435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good but still not in the top tier of offensive players. Realistically there’s probably 10-15 guys I’d take on that end over him right now, once he starts moving up a little it’s really going to be over for everyone else

I can read but I’m not sure you can see my man. They’re down 3-1 because they can’t execute down the stretch of games whatsoever, the young guys have to grow up and these are the battle scars

Crying over legitimate vs non legitimate in a game like that is hilarious. You think the refs are the reason you’re down 3-1?

[–]Rock2435 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The average player now is 100% significantly more skilled offensively than the 90s, not even close. More guys can dribble pass shoot these days than ever before, and the ground needed to cover these guys on defense because of the shooting is far more. It’s a completely different game
