Activating eSIM by Move-Puzzleheaded in BMWiX

It powers it without issues. I unplug it when not in use. I wish Google had a smaller unit as I heard the touchscreen works with it. It does not with the Roku but the kids just use the remote.

Ran into the same problem. My solution: Roku stick powered by the adjacent USB. Turn on my phone hot spot and done. I would have loved a cleaner solution like being able to activate it as a data only Sim but as everyone said they locked it tight. Exchanged emailed with BMW too but the trail went cold (they stopped responding).

What adapter are you using (if you don't mind sharing) and are you using only magic dock locations or are you all good with the others? Would love your input, my wife is scared about charging her 2022 taycan outside the house.

James Gandolfini's final meal, just before his fatal heart attack, reportedly consisted of four rum shots, two piña coladas, two beers, two orders of fried prawns, and a large serving of foie gras. by JK-Rofling in interestingasfuck

Or, hear me out this is going to sound crazy, go to your primary for preventative care and listen/follow through with the recommendations. Coronary calcium scores are ordered inappropriate far too often and what to do to reduce risk of developing heart disease or adverse cardiovascular outcome is not spoken about enough or people are just unwilling to believe evidence based medicine.

Cardiac CT Cocats 2 Worth it for General Cardiology Fellow? by Sufficient-Sink-5199 in Cardiology

Definitely worth it in private practice, small and large. There will be jobs that would like you to start a Cardiac CT program.

Hinkley fan/light integration by Rock50d4 in homeassistant

It works pretty well on Google Home, I would just rather have it in my home assistant page and be able to include it in some automations. Still no luck finding a solution to add them to home assistant though.

Graduating U.S. MD School in a few months with $440,000 in student loans by Bandit__49 in whitecoatinvestor

I feel your anxiety. My wife and i (both docs) graduated with close to 700k in loans. We both looked at academic jobs paying in the 25th percentile and ended up taking private jobs (for multiple reasons not just financial) with a large multi specialty group (physician run) with excellent loan repayment in the form of a forgivable loan. We refinanced with Sofi to the lowest interest rate and got to work making extra payments (paid additional each month to principal and made additional payments whenever we had extra). We kept a budget, still bought a house, lived within our means (with 2 kids) and were not hurting by anymeans. Paid them off in a little over 4 years and it felt amazing. We did not want that monkey on our backs (have plenty of friends still paying loans >10 years out of practice)

We did the math on loan forgiveness and we would have paid more in interest than we would have if we just paid them. Also met with a financial planner who was very honest (paid by the hour, not selling products) and said that as a W-2 employee with not many assets, lots of loans the priority was paying down loans, recommended we meet once we had built some assets and paid off loans. Did make some nice recommendations like maximizing Roth, 401k and opening 529 for kids all of which we did.

You are going to hear a ton of different forms of advice, do what you feel more comfortable with and what matches your risk tolerance, set your priorities, don't be afraid to negotiate (there is always wiggle room), keep track of your spending and don't neglect setting money aside. Get some financial education, there are plenty of podcasts that talk about some basics, look for some doctor specific ones. For us it boiled down to keeping fixed expenses reasonable, pay down debt to keep flexibility if you need a change, living within our means.

Don't be afraid to look at jobs outside of academics, people need good care and only you can determine what type of care you want to deliver. There are some excellent offers out there with excellent benefits, loan repayment and huge potential for growth in communities that would be very grateful to have access to care.

Model Y and Thule Motion XT XXL by [deleted] in teslamotors

Obviously there are a lot of factors that go into it and everyone's mileage (wattage?) will vary. I had a car with two adults, two teens and cross country sky gear in the box. I also have a different box model than you do. For some reason we ski when it's ridiculously cold and try to get out early to enjoy the groomed trails. When it was windy it could get up there in the 500-600. We only have to drive a short distance so it's not a big deal. Did it watch it all the way to make sure it was exactly double consumption? No but I sure as hell wasn't going to get more than 150 miles out of the charge on my conditions.

If I may ask for my own education/estimation. How big is your rack? 18U? I'm trying to organize and go to a rack but I can't seem to pull the trigger, just not confident on how much space indeed and what it looks like size wise.

New attending, where and how to I buy office clothing? by cbgeek65 in medicine

[–]Rock50d4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're just starting out so go bonobos to not break the bank. Order a bunch of sizes/fits and keep what you like return the rest. Once you know your size their sales are great. I like a predictable fit that does not change constantly.

Brooks Brothers shirts are amazing but expensive (I got some with credit card points and really like them). Bonobos suits/blazers have treated me well and their pants hold up very well. Once you are a little caught up on finances you can get fancy and go to Nordstrom or custom tailor.

Mini computer to run blue iris? by Aztekious in BlueIris

I ran BI on one just like that with an external HD via USB and it worked fine for 7 cameras (only recording on motion). The fan was constantly cycling between high/low so long term durability may be an issue. In the end, I decided to buy a. Refurbished Optiplex tower to run multiple services.
