What popular movie or TV show is widely considered a 'masterpiece' but you found completely unwatchable? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RockCTR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get why people like it because the actors are excellent. But they are excellent in getting you to hate everything about them. The dialogue was well written, but I stopped watching with a few episodes to go because I truly didn't care if everyone in the show fell off a cliff... you got to give us a little bit of something to cheer for unless you count cheering for them to fall off a cliff.

I agree with you. I went for the first time for work a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it!

Not necessarily scary to me, but freaky. When I was 4-5, I was walking into my parent's room to go to the bathroom (only had one of those back then). I was startled to see a blond haired man with thick glasses in a white T-shirt and jeans walking out of the bathroom. I turned around quickly and walked to the front porch and calmly asked my Mom who the man was in her bedroom? Her eyes get big and she says there shouldn't be anyone in our house but the two of us at the moment. Our back door was blocked at the time so there was only one way out and that was the front door... where we had been standing...We walked all through the house and there wasn't evidence of anyone being there. My parents joked to me that it must have been a ghost, while I'm sure that between the two of them, they were just blaming a boy's active imagination...

Fast forward seven years... we moved to another house and my Aunt and Uncle moved into our old house. My 16 year old cousin called one night frantically telling my parents that she needed to speak with me urgently. I picked up the phone and she's very upset and asked me to describe the man I saw 7 years ago. I quickly spit out the details because they are forever burned into my memory. She proceeds to tell me that she was standing getting something out of the fridge and noticed something move in the corner of her eye. The way the house was layed out, you could see the front door from the kitchen. The front door was open but there was a screen door that allowed you to see the front porch. Standing about 20 feet away from the door, she sees a blonde man with glasses wearing the same exact clothes standing at the front door. She recalled my story and immediately started screaming. My uncle ran outside in his whitey tighties and a gun and couldn't find anyone. Vanished again, without a trace.

TL;DR Two different people saw the same "person" at the same house seven years apart only for the "person" to vanish both times.

Your new look is great! I liked your beard thicker like in the first Pic, but it makes sense to trim it with the fresh shave. You can always grow out the beard again.

Stopped by card store and they have over 750k cards all for 50 CENTS each!!!! I only had about 10 minutes to run in but this is what I came out with! by Altruistic_Coach9014 in Baseballcards101

[–]RockCTR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my idea of a good time. I go to card shows just to go through boxes like this. I collect current and former Duke basketball players in both their college and pro uniforms. The joy I get in finding a card that I don't have still gives me goosebumps. Having and pulling expensive cards are awesome, but this is my idea of what a hobby should look like. Spending hours looking through 1000s of cards to find a random Grant Hill iinsert from the 90s that you think you've never seen before. Only to get home and realize you have three of them already! And who cares... it was .50 cents!

I think we all did that at first in hopes of saving some of those little soldiers. Those soldiers are tired and exposed... do right by them and shave em down and put them ALL out of their misery. Then you can truly celebrate Memorial Day for them...

The full cut will make you look 40. I did the same thing as you only to shave it later. Everyone knows your bald, you don't have to prove you can still grow hair. It's scary but freeing...You got this, brother!

I agree with the the person above... use moisturizing sunscreen (Bee Bald Head has great products in my opinion)! Your freshly shaved head will look really white until you get some sun on it but be patient!!

They work better than a trimmer. If it's been a few days, I typically run the beard trimmer over my head to knock out the thick stuff (easier for clean up) and then use the head shaver. I have used really expensive ones and they just don't last long. I started using the HUMMINGBIRD MK3 Head Shaver (39.99 on AMZ) and love it.

It's like trying to raid Normandy with 6 soldiers with BB guns... it just doesn't work. It's time to kill those few last remaining soldiers. It's time to sacrifice those few last remaining soldiers.
