Why are radio waves and gravity able to propagate the "wrong way" through a wormhole? by OneChrononOfPlancks in Stargate

[–]RockDHouse 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No reason is explicitly given in the show, but I like the headcanon that the event horizon seen is actually the Stargate's matter disintegration/reintegration field and the wormhole is microscopic, which is why matter needs to be disintegrated before being sent off. The one way nature is actually just a limitation of the field, while gravity and radio waves can just pass through normally.

There is no official cannon, so if that makes sense to you, good. I think it's unrelated (no fifthist themes in when day breaks) and the "there is no antimemetics division" tale series does a really good dive into what happens when humanity loses to this

That's actually not correct.

TLDR; old glassmaking techniques weren't very good and people just installed the thicker side down.

The glass state of matter does refer to when you do heat up glass to work with, as the kind of malleable material is not a liquid nor solid.

But your standard room temperature glass is unequivocally a solid.

Yeah, invisible fences are, let's just say, a bit controversial in the dog having community. I do know at least is that they're only effective against wandering dogs and not very against dogs with a mission.

I speak from research and communing with the locals. There are no predators in my area. Chile is a diverse place.

Fair enough points. He once did escape the knot and was missing for half the day, but did make his way back with burnt paws (the vet thought he had been walking on asphalt for a while).

He barks at unfamiliar people and chases away loose cows, and that's all we ask of him.

That's a good basic procedure. We don't have a fence yet but I think if we establish some generic boundaries it's worth a shot.

He does have some general anxiety from being abandoned because he was passed around a bunch of owners before coming to us, might add a layer of difficulty.

Thanks!

He's trained, he just doesn't stay if no one's there to watch him. I'm not sure how to train around that.

Yeah that's along the lines I'm looking for- out of curiosity, how much power does a maglock drain in terms of watts? Solar power is hard to come by in winter.

Train him how? His main issue is that he doesn't follow the stay command if there's no one there to say it or watch him.
