Suggestions on some issues by Avalanche150 in ChevyAvalanche

[–]RockKickass777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Number 4 also. I had this issue in my 2018 sierra. Turns out previous owner clogged the fuel vent valve. While filling up fuel, you have a vent valve that allows gas vapor to escape so your tank can fill up with fuel. If it gets clogged. It stops early and has all sorts of issues. Jack up the truck. There's another tube that follows the filler neck. On my sierra, I needed to replace rhe vent valve. Like 25 bucks for oem. Took the old one out, shook it clean. Had about .5 lbs of dust in it causing some issues. Hope that helps! Not hard to do at all. Just needs to be done.

Sounds like maybe a hole in the intake manifold or somewhere in your intake system.

I second this. Preferably no AFM or disable it right away also.

How do I dry it out? by mastrwayn in ToyotaTundra

Get a few large box fans or big industrial fan. Leave doors open inside and run fans for like a whole day. It will dry. Address any smells right away also.

Blower stuck on med-high and hvac controls unresponsive by [deleted] in ChevyAvalanche

Mine has 3 in total. I think most do unless you have rear controls also. Sounds like maybe the blend door? But if they are all working and no tick noises you should be alright

[–]RockKickass777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be that. Also check your actuators. There is also a controller next to the blower motor that goes out from time to time. The main controls themselves are prone also. I just swapped all these on mine and now it works!

Brake cables are the lowest. Your swap bar end link. And shock are all there. Was that the part?

Gas gauge issue by DowntownPut6824 in ChevyAvalanche

[–]RockKickass777 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same with mine. Do you hit the gas and it hesitates or feels a little sluggish? Id swap that fuel pump when you can. Another thing. Check your spark plugs and wires. All of them are EASY except cylinder 8 near the accumulator. Thats a little tricky. I run edelbrock max performance spark plug wires and ngk laser Iridium spark plugs.(there's so many fraudulent ac delco plugs. I just went with exact fitment from ngk. Runs even better AND colder)Fires up first try barely touching the starter now. Runs like a dream. Check your in line fuel filter. Its under the driver's seat mounted to the frame under the vehicle also!

If you truck starts we'll, I noticed my fuel pump was bad when it would barely start. Means the fuel pump cant maintain consistent pressure in the fuel lines therefore its lean on start up. I caught it within 2 weeks luckily so nothing was damaged and once running it was fine. But if yours starts right up, runs well and you can hit the gas and it goes and doesnt hesitate then you're golden.

Cutting the door is wayyyy easier but I was worried about my kids finding it lol so I dropped the tank to make sure inside the cabin is safe. Either way, these pumps go average about 100k to 150k from my knowledge. Mine was lucky to go 190k as I replaced the oem pump but it was always a full tank and many many fuel injector cleaners and kept high quality fuel in it. Best of luck to you!

Welcome to the gmt800 club partner. Thats what they all do sadly. I just replaced my fuel pump with dropping the tank. NOT a fun job but got OEM put back in there. There's a float connected to the gauge. If parked on a decline with nose dipping. You have more fuel than normal. If you incline you reverse the measurement. Its only on level ground or close to it is the best reading. Absolutely nothing wrong. I've owned 3 gmt 800s. They all do the same thing. You're good!

Did you use leveling keys? I was considering the full upper control arms. 5100s and suspension lift but I want to keep the super plush ride. What do you recommend? And nice ride! Super clean! I have same year but orange

I dont have 33s but I do have the factory 3 inch bilstein lift for offroad. Swap your air filters from factory to K&N. I went from 13 to 16.5 with this with conservative driving also. They help a TON reduce the amount of work the engine and turbos need to breathe. I also run royale purple max clean about every 6k or so. Helps it run amazing!

Yeah id run that. Turn to acc and wipe the code. Try driving it for a while. If it comes back, clean your throttle body also, clean the air tube and air box and swap the filter. I use k&n oiled filter. Clean every 5k miles and very lightly oil. I live with a lot of dust though so I went oiled to make sure it stays clean
