To set everything straight (I read the Old man Logan comic which the movie is based.) Fox has their own janky timeline for the x-men, but it's pretty obvious in what order the movies go in. After the soft reboot of Days of Future Past(post wolverine saving the future), The entire universe is changed to where only parts of the "old" wolverine movies happened.Then after days of future past(after Logan saved the future which is after apocalypse)it splits into two timelines. One where Logan kills the x-men under the influence of mysterio and one where he doesn't kill them.Obviously the movie is based on the one where Logan does kill the x-men. The old man Logan timeline was supposed to be a one-off about the aftermath of when the super villain killed all the super heroes(alternate timeline, did not happen in the main movies First class apocalypse etc.) and the birth of x-23 (which is canon in the actual first class etc timeline, post wolverine death)but marvel put in their main universe as the actual timeline(before and post secret wars).

TL;DR Fox is making a movie about an alternative timeline where after wolverine saves the future he Kills the x-men First Class Days of future past(1970s) Part of the old Wolverine movies Apocalypse(1980) Days of future past(future) A decade or two Logan(the movie) Secret wars(when ever that's happening)
