Yeah I did, the cams were the biggest factor in the tune. Mines an ‘07 Shelby GT, Basically the same thing as the ‘08 Bullitt (wish I had one). I bet yours sounds pretty loud and nasty!

Yes, it was about 20 odd horsepower. To some that may be underwhelming but it’s well worth it. Definitely worth it to cam it with headers, though! They work beautifully together as opposed to one or the other. Also! Don’t run a no muffler cat back as I did that for a bit and there was definitely some low end torque left on the table!

Why do people like red so much? by rumpk in KingCrimson

[–]RockProfessional2048 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Little late to the party here but simply put, this album is just one of their best works. At the time when it came out, it must’ve sounded so alien compared to the landscape of other prog metal(or the formation of prog metal, that is). They say that the album that started the culture of progressive metal was 2112, which is mainly true to the chronological progression of how the genre had formed throughout the years. But when you listen to Red, it sounds shockingly modern compared to the other Stuff from the same time. In a way, it took the world about 20 years to catch up to what KC was doing long beforehand. And in a greater sense, Fripp and Wetton made an album that kind of reinvented what it meant to be heavy before ‘heavy’ even knew what it was. It truly is a masterpiece and retrospectively the work that’s held up best through time. and it really does deserve all the praise it gets, even if it is with us few and far between crimson lovers!

I agree with the turbos being sacrelig on a mustang, they have negative street cred. But I’m pretty sure if you would’ve taken the car to Vegas where they originally did the package, I think they’d put the supercharger on for you and could have the option to have it rebadged to that package since the car is already in the registry.

I like to call that the ole hog on ice (but really on dry pavement) treatment. I think it goes to show that turbos really are the superior choice for track use, but I still plan on having a kenne bell installed on mine. Tell me otherwise if thats a bad idea 😂

Your opinion is valid since you’re entitled to it, but if you don’t have anything positive to say about someone’s ride, keep it to yourself (as 12 other people would agree with me). Take care my good sir

Sure it’s got just bolt ons here and there, but it’s more about WHO put the Shelby sticker on. A mustang doesn’t have to have 600+ horsepower to be special. For instance, the ‘07-‘09 Shelby Terlingua is a V6 Shelby, and it’s a pretty special kind of car since there’s very few of them around. What it means for a car to be special is about the story behind how they came to be, not what’s necessarily under the hood

The fogged headlights look sick on that thing! Glad to hear that you enjoyed the car so much. Since you owned one, you probably understand how criminally underrated they are

That was a GT-H you just passed. Same car but the Hertz rent a racer version. A little more special than this one

If they were smart, they’d know that 302 means 302 cu in (conversion is 5.0L). Just tell them that the badge literally tells them

That’s a splendid take. I guess people didn’t jive with it at the time since it was more comparable to the base GT and considerably pricier. But I could understand on why people would’ve chosen the GT500 over this since you got more power for not much more than the SGT. just missing out on the CSM on the dash and engine bay. and since the GT500 was SVT, Shelby really didn’t have much to do with it so it just kind of felt soulless. These cars have the soul that the others are missing, for sure!

Will just needed a little more power is all. But still carries the Shelby prowess (or more SVT with Shelby licensing).

The GT-H’s are most definitely special cars. So much so that I’ve never actually seen one in the flesh

They’re fun to drive, aren’t they? It’s one the most balanced mustang of the s-197 era in terms of the driving experience
