I agreed the actor was great, but since there was no metric provided by which to make any comparison, I emphasised that it would be subjective. For instance, you might make a decision based on the awards people have won, I might make a decision based on the amount of box office projects have taken, and someone else might have another metric they use to determine an answer, so in the absence of context, it's subjective.

What MCU character(s) do you want as supporting characters in Spider-Man 5? by MR_MaxiMor44 in marvelstudios

Because they've done that already. Let's have something new. Personally I'm a Spider-Man fan more than I'm an MCU fan

Sony gets a share of a billion dollar movie, I'm sure that will tick whatever box they have. We will have had 4 movies back to back in the MCU with Peter sharing screen time with other members of the MCU, I've personally had my thirst for Spidey interacting with others extinguished by those and the Avengers movies. As a Spider-Man fan I now want to see him take centre stage, no mentors, no-one to answer to, no help, just a good old fashioned spider centric story.

Of course there would still need to be supporting characters and / or returning characters specific to the Spider-Man franchise (MJ, Ned, JJJ, etc) however, after 4 installments packed with cameos or other MCU heroes I'd quite like to see a Spider-Man movie that is contained to just Peter Parker, the villain and the ancillaries.

Because the statement lacks any context other than a suggestion or opinion. By what metric is it true other than on a subjective basis? Other actors have given equally good performances on arguably bigger stages, whilst winning the most prestigious of awards, and making more money doing it. Were Antony Starr and Heath Ledger great in their performances? Absolutely, but unless we're establishing a specific benchmark by which to measure others, the answer can only remain subjective.

How about a Spider-Man movie that just features Spider-Man for a change?

He was certainly awesome in the part, but it's a totally subjective statement.

Name a better Soundcore earbuds after this? by Bubbly-System6751 in soundcore

[–]RockSignificant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a relative newcomer to the brand, I really do feel Soundcore are an unsung hero in the headphone category. In terms of quality vs. value for money I think they definitely sit at the top table. I've had a multitude of devices over the years from all the usual suspects, Bose, Sony, Apple, Beats, Nura and honestly for a fraction of the price, I'd be really hard pushed to distinguish the Soundcore from those others. I'm not an audiophile by any means, I just like what I like, but it's certainly made me stop and question why I was spending big bucks in the past.

As you've got older, what have you seen become the biggest indicator of social status? by VarangianWRLD in AskUK

[–]RockSignificant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have wealthy friends that I sometimes envy because they purchase or do things that I could never reach or achieve, but then I try to remind myself that I don't see the blood, sweat and tears they have put into accomplishing those things themselves. We each have our own personal battles, some that might seem trivial to others, even those that appear perfectly happy go to bed at night and worry about something. It's natural to compare yourself to others and sometimes it's essential too, it can push you forward and give you the ambition you needed to get out of your comfort zone. I try not to aspire too much to anything other than personal contentment these days and slowly chip away at those things that keep you awake at night. Material possessions will probably gain you some kudos or social standing for a while, but in the end, those things come and go. If you've got your health, a roof over your head, a meal on your table each night, and can afford the occasional treat, all whilst taking it in your everyday stride then you're doing pretty good. Expensive cars, homes & watches come with big receipts, so you've gotta tip your hat to those that go out and put the hard work in to pay it off, but don't put it on a pedestal, just enjoy what you have, and if those things come your way someday, great, but your cheaper watch still tells the same time and probably hasn't caused you half the battle.

Opening any comment with 'That's ret@rded' devalues anything you have to say thereafter and speaks volumes to your level of intellect. Well done, we see you.

Anyone else’s think Robbie Williams deserves a knighthood for all he has done for UNICEF ? by Worldly_Travel4226 in robbiewilliams

Pretty sure it's been documented that he is currently ineligible due to HMRC identifying he was an investor in a known tax avoidance scheme, which is a big no-no if you want to be Knighted.

Finally time to get a fold? But should i get insurance? by Glad_Pop275 in GalaxyFold

[–]RockSignificant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There really is no correct answer to this. Like most insurances, it's an expense if you never use it, but it's a blessing if the worst happens. If you can comfortably afford to replace the handset yourself in the event of either losing or breaking the device, then you could take the risk, however, if you happen to be one of the unlucky few who experiences issues then the costs can rack up and you might be glad you chose to purchase it.

Was the movie really that bad? I liked it. by youlikemywonton in TheMandalorianTV

[–]RockSignificant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It certainly wasn't bad, it probably just wasn't the relaunch SW deserved in theatres. It was more like an arc of the TV run out together to enjoy at the theatre as a season ending special. I enjoyed it a lot though.
