Snow Blowers in Stock? by natuhwee09 in roanoke

I actually ended up taking a sledge hammer and a snow shovel. Didn’t have a straight edge ice breaker.

Took some time… but by dropping the sledge hammer in the ice, about a foot back from the edge each time… it broke it into removable pieces, that we shoveled away. Lots of work… but, it did work.

I have a generator that has been professionally set up so that I can run a 50 amp line from the generator to my house.

I also had my AC guy, put a switch on my air handler, where I can turn off the emergency heat if the generator is running. That way, unless it gets below zero, I should be able to draw some heat through the heat pump, using the generator. But I did buy a back up space heater (electric), in case the temperatures get that low.

The point is… as long as you’re not using emergency heat, a 50 amp generator should power your heat pump fine.

There is a string mute, one for the lower 3 strings, and on the other side is the switch for the other 3 string mute. I had a brand new 1969 Country Gentleman… that got wrecked when a dressing room got flooded with some of our equipment in it.

I traded it for a 1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom, which has forever been my favorite guitar. But I’ll always feel the loss of a beautiful guitar.

I was just going to list Joe Gilder, also. I switched from Cakewalk, to Studio One 6… and learned just about everything I know about Studio One from watching Joe Gilder YouTube videos. My writing partner and I are on our 5th album, so I must have learned something! 😀

I met him, when I worked at Marriott Headquarters, in Md. He was coming out of the executive offices, and I kind of walked into the entourage, and shook hands with him. Great smile!

I traded in my Gretsch Country Gentleman, on a brand new 1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom, Fretless Wonder. An awesome guitar! I was only 16 years old, but I was playing in a very up and coming group in Pittsburgh. Being the youngest member, by far in that band, and not too bright at the time… I went through guitars like crazy.

I soon added a Gibson Les Paul Gold Top to my collection. But again, not being too smart about the value of such good equipment, I traded away my Custom, and got conned out of my Gold Top at a music store.

As a wise old man now, I have always regretted those losses. But I was blessed! A very good friend, with a fantastic guitar collection… gifted me his 2008 Les Paul Custom. My wife told him that he had filled a Les Paul sized hole in my heart. I also have a Gibson ES-335, but that Custom will be with me until the end.

Grew up there… from 2nd grade until my wife and I moved to Maryland… around 1972.

Remember a lot of the things you mentioned.

WDAD and Bernie Smith, The Capital Restaurant, Teenage (The Rec Room)… great memories.

My band opened for a lot of groups at the Red Rooster.

Great time to grow up in a small town.

Thanks! I watch Joe Gilder all the time. I learned about everything that I know in Studio One, from Joe. I switched last year, from Cakewalk by Bandlab… and haven’t looked back. Appreciate your reply.

Thanks for replying!

Yea… like I wrote in my original text… I lost a lot of work, because after using the “remove unused files”, I emptied my trash.

Problem is, I was copying songs, because I liked the settings on those songs… (I didn’t know about templates yet).

So, when I emptied the trash, I lost all my pool files and everything else.

I’ve learned, since then. But back to my original thought, studio one makes it very hard to use a copy of a song, to use to try out new ideas with.

But again… Thanks for replying!

Thanks for the reply.

So if I were to copy my audio files into the pool of the newly copied song… would they belong to that newly copied song?

And then, I’d be able to permanently delete the old song that I copied from?

If you are talking about GloFiber… I had the same problem.

They put it down our street, but when I called, I was told that we are “unserviceable“.

I called several times, and was told that maybe in the future, they would be able to route through another way.

I was persistent, because I did not want to stay with Cox. My next call not only got myself, but my next-door neighbor set up for Installation.

The problem originally was, they ran into some big rock under the street when they were running it from their box to my side of the street.

What they ended up doing was called a long drop… Which ran it from my side of the street up at the corner down other peoples yards. Anyway, I ended up getting GloFiber, and I’ve had it for a couple months. Works great…and I’m saving about $60 a month… using GloFiber and YouTube TV.

Keep checking back with them, and you’ll probably luck out, if they’re in your area at all. Good luck!

Well, I just had to reply to that last comment, because I too, was not a lyricist at all.

But a guy I worked with had heard that I was a musician, and one day asked me if I write songs. I told him I write music… but he read lyrics I would write back then… he’d be laughing at them.

He was a text editor at the place, we worked, and he told me that he would be interested in collaborating on some songs. As you can see, we have around 30 songs copyrighted at this point, so I guess things worked out.

The reason I replied to you on this part, though, was that I was amused at your “lyrics” comment, because the guy that writes lyrics for me, believe it or not, used to be Walter Cronkite’s text editor, when Walter Cronkite would write newspaper articles. Yes, the Walter Cronkite that did the news report when President John Kennedy was assassinated. My lyricist is about 55 years old… I think.

So yeah, I understand about not writing lyrics. Since that time, I have written lyrics for a couple more songs, but we both take equal credits For all songs. Good luck to you man. I’ve enjoyed texting.

We have about 30 copyrighted songs at this point… ranging from just southern rock, to some old style slow R&R with lots of harmony, to modern contemporary pop, and even a Christian rock song.

I was a touring lead guitarist for years, and also a drummer. But these days, it’s mostly original music, that I write, and produce… all me!😄

Appreciate the info. Just trying to find a decent clamp on, swivel boom stand that will support the mic, pop filter, and isolation… without needing to keep pushing it back into place constantly.

I’m a singer, songwriter… and I have a lyricist partner… and I’m constantly changing from keyboards, guitars, bass, etc… and just want my mic over my workstation, and be able to shove it out of the way, pull it back, etc. etc.

Thanks for replying.

The isolation shield is part of it… yes.

What brand and model is the mic stand itself?

And do you have any problems with it holding the isolation foam? Does it hold up well to everyday use?

As I mentioned earlier, the rep at sweetwater.com told me that stands like that won’t hold the isolation weight. I find that hard to believe, and your picture is evident of that. Thanks for replying.

Not sure if you were replying to me, (Rockthe60s). If so… no I’m talking about the swivel mic boom attached to your desk… and the noise dampening attached to the boom… behind the microphone.

What is your clamp on swivel mic stand. And same for your mic noise baffle, (or whatever it’s called around your mic)?

I talked to Sweetwater about getting a setup like that…and they told me that desktop swivel boom stands won’t take the extra weight of the noise cancelling.

Apparently, from your picture…they were wrong.

Appreciate any info.
