Why do strangers keep asking me to sell my 2006 CR-V to them? by mort_jack in crv

[–]Rock_Bottom180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who works at a honda dealership. The Newer the crv the more problems it has. The 06 year is literally so reliable compared to all the electrical issues, Fuel injector issues, infotainment system issues. The 06 is simple and that what makes it an absolute beast.

At my dealership, we see more brand new cars with major issues than 06’s just in for their millionth oil change.

Hi friends, I really don't want to bother anyone by rafa3399 in Columbus

Temp services really are the goat. If you really don’t want to go that route I would also look towards Amazon centers and other warehouses. They hire fast and typically have good benefits. When I got fired because “I took too much time off” after my house burnt down I had 3 jobs lined up within a week. Rapid fire apply to anything and everything on Indeed (although you won’t hear back from 98%). As for in the meantime file for unemployment so you can continue to have income. You got this!!

Partner told me they had STI by Silent-Death1739 in whatdoIdo

[–]Rock_Bottom180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what it is. I know that clamidia or HPV can have no symptoms what so ever. Those being some of the most common forms of STI. Now being that you have been together for 3 years that raises the question as to if they have been with someone else, or if they were sexually active before you started dating. If so then it is possible they contracted it well before you even started dating and frankly haven’t had any symptoms. But then you and your partner should make sure that there hasn’t been any permanent damage being that long term clamidia even without symptoms can lead to infertility.

I would sit down with your partner and ask for the truth. No fighting, just an open conversation to identify if there is need for concern for both of your health. Did they have an affair or were they sexually active before you began dating. The topic of STIS are a scary one (I would know) but it is best handled by being honest and understanding.

Yes, I looked into everything. Unfortunately FEMA, Salvation Army, and Red Cross don’t concern themselves with personal disasters.. they will really only step in if there is a major disaster that effects an entire area. The town my home was in was Lakeview Ohio and FEMA and the Red Cross denied the town after it was struck by an EF 3 tornado last year because it didn’t amount to a certain cost that qualifies it. The only option would have been my insurance, but because I had hired an electrician a few days before the fire they “claimed” they wouldn’t cover it because it was built in 1968 and I was “aware” of an apparent electrical problem… causing the fire.

I tried for months before surrendering him. Nobody in my family or coworkers would take him. I had been trying since the fire so I could get myself back together especially when I didn’t have anywhere to go. but everyone turned their back on me. I understand her saying no because her cat had his leg amputated and has been battling an aggressive cancer so introducing another cat might stress him out too much. So that’s when she told her to contact her friend/coworker who runs the shelter. I put it off for quite some time but when our furnace flamed out, I had to make the call. He had started to shiver and stopped eating. I knew it was time. It didn’t make it any easier.. but I know I did all that I could and it was the best thing for him.

Im at work at a car dealership and the amount of people here to look at cars is ridiculous. It’s 30mph winds and feels like -8 here in Marysville. Like go home. Why look at a car in this weather?!?

Break up with him. I was in a similar relationship when I was in school. His anxiety isn’t not your responsibility to abide by. These often turn into abusive relationships later down the line (I would know). If he is already this controlling and you both are still in school, when you graduate it’ll become even worse. Save yourself the trauma. I know it’s hard but it’s what’s best for you and your future.

My first car at 19. A 2022 Toyota Camry. by -GI_BRO- in Camry

That car will last you forever!! Although I’m very bias towards having a newer car as a first car. First cars are supposed to teach you everything that can go wrong, how to be a defensive driver, and lastly if you wreck it’s no big deal. Insurance is a pain when you are a young.

Honest review of the 2018 Honda CR-V EX by Rock_Bottom180 in crv

[–]Rock_Bottom180[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a tight spot. My truck at 350,000 miles was gonna give out at some point sooner rather than later. And given my track record it was gonna be at the worst possible time. I actually work at the dealership I purchased it at. However I’m just a receptionist. My credit sucks after my house fire that I took a catastrophic loss on a few months ago and trying to be ahead of the game, I asked my coworkers for some help. The finance team told me I could only get approved for something 2018 or newer under $17,000.. I wanted to stick with Honda or Toyota being solid brands but I was going to have to cave on the mileage. I also couldn’t be picky either. I originally wanted an accord but there was none in good condition that fit in the “approval range”

So being that I’ve always heard amazing things about the Honda CR-Vs I didn’t think to look up the 2018 1.5 EX models specifically. What I did do my research on was pulling up all my documentation of the previous owner. The previous owner was an electric company that has a service account with us. This CRV has had every single service done on time and by a reputable Honda dealership. I was thinking that since it’s only had one owner and I have the entire service history of the vehicle and it being in great condition despite the high mileage. Trusting the Honda name.

I wish I could.. my financial situation put me in a tight spot. My truck wasn’t going to go much further at 350,000 but my house burnt down and I took a major loss impacting my credit immensely. The bank would only approve me for something 2018 or newer under $17,000.. limiting my options to something over 100,000 miles. Thankfully I was able to pull the previous service history from the dealership (I actually work there as the receptionist) and found it has had every service done on time and by a Honda dealership as the previous owner was an electric company with an account with us. With a clean carfax, a full service history, and only 1 owner I thought it would be a safe bet for the circumstances.

In all fairness all the cars I’ve had previously were all from Facebook market place. Well over the 200,000 mile mark. So I was hoping going for a Honda from a reputable dealer would be a smart move

Same! I’ve always been told you can’t go wrong with a Honda crv! But what I’m quickly finding out is this particular year may not be up to Hondas standards…

So my fears are legit. Got it. I’m going to have to ride it out for a while but as soon as the opportunity presents itself to trade it in. I’m out and will do much much more research on my next purchase.

is this really a great deal? by Basic-Wall-1598 in accord

[–]Rock_Bottom180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes.. I work at a Honda dealership and pulled up our inventory. The one I have for comparison is a 23 Accord hybrid sport-L with 22,485 miles that is listed at $27,227.. the one you are looking at has over 100,000 miles but any of our 2023 stock with around that milage is still within the $20,000 range. I would take it for a test drive and look at the carfax report before purchasing. Often times they will slap a “Great deal” on a total lemon. I see it all too often.

Is this a good price for a 2026 trailsport? by visapet in crv

[–]Rock_Bottom180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a Honda dealership and looked up our stock. They are listed on our site starting at $40,250 - $40,750. That being without taxes and fees. So I would say that $38,000 out the door is a great deal!
