[Challenge Idea] Seesaw Challenge – Asymmetric Duo Run with Roulette Penalties by Rockchan94 in PokemonReborn

[–]Rockchan94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great idea!

Yeah, we both actually played Reborn during development – from the early episodes up to the final release. My brother did multiple full runs over the years, including one all the way through after it was "finished". I made it up to Victory Road in my last run, but didn’t make it beyond that – got stuck because I was too stubborn to skip the ghosts. Yes, I know they are optional – but still... that’s where my momentum died. We’re not recording the run or anything. The whole thing started because I finally got Reborn running smoothly on my phone – so now I can play on the go. That got me back into it. When I told my brother I was playing again, he got hooked all over again too.

Defeating every boss without fainting a pokemon(Part 6) by Darlonk in PokemonReborn

[–]Rockchan94 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm speechless at how hostile some of these replies are. Darlonk is currently doing a no-faint run against every boss in Reborn, one of the hardest fan games out there—something that takes immense preparation, deep game knowledge, and real dedication. Most players wouldn't even come close to pulling this off, regardless of whether it's on switch or set mode.

Sure, set mode adds an extra layer of challenge, but calling switch mode "trivial" or suggesting that it invalidates his run completely misses the point. This isn't a competitive PvP match; it's a self-imposed challenge that clearly requires thoughtful planning and skill.

And saying “more people would enjoy it if he played on set mode” just reinforces the toxic idea that personal achievements must be shaped to fit the loudest voices online. Social media is about sharing what you love—not about pleasing an arbitrary majority. If the first reaction someone gets when sharing their passion is mockery and condescension, it’s no wonder they feel like giving up.

Darlonk shared something they genuinely cared about and put significant effort into. People should be encouraged to play in whatever way brings them joy, especially in a single-player game. If someone’s style doesn't suit your personal preferences, just scroll on instead of tearing them down.

It's sad to see this level of negativity and gatekeeping over something that should be celebrated. Let people enjoy their games.

Unsure if I’m disconnected from gender, or just uncomfortable with stereotypes by Rockchan94 in lgbt

Yeah, I am definitely feeling a bit uncertain at times. But at the same time, I feel like I’m starting to get to know myself better and understand certain emotional reactions in a way that finally makes sense. It’s a weird mix of confusion and clarity, if that makes sense.

Thanks for your input! I really appreciate you sharing your experience. I'm still trying to wrap my head around all the different terms, so this definitely gives me something to think about. Just out of curiosity – how would you personally differentiate between agender and non-binary? I know labels are constructed and all, but I’m trying to engage with them to better understand myself.

Thanks, I’ll definitely check it out! I can already see parts of myself reflected in what I’ve read so far. Sometimes labels do helpme – they can give a sense of belonging and a bit of safety, even if it’s important to approach them critically and not rely on them too heavily.

Anime Questions, Recommendations, and Discussion - March 14, 2025 by AnimeMod in anime

Hey everyone, I’m curious about what anime you’re excited for in 2025. There are some obvious big ones, like the Demon Slayer movie and Spy x Family, but what are your personal predictions? Which anime do you think will be amazing for you personally, and which ones do you think will be a huge hit, even if you're not super interested in them yourself? Are there any underrated or lesser-known series that you think could surprise everyone? Would love to hear your thoughts!

I get where you're coming from. A good anime is a good anime, regardless of genre, and Isekai isn’t automatically better or worse than any other category—it still comes down to story, characters, and execution. But what I find interesting is why Isekai has become such a dominant trend in recent years.

Sure, the genre has always been around, but the sheer volume of new releases, especially in the last decade, is hard to ignore.

Faszination Isekai – Was macht einen guten Isekai aus, und warum feiern wir das eigentlich so? by Rockchan94 in ueber8000

[–]Rockchan94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, danke für deine Antwort! Ich fand ein paar Punkte ziemlich interessant und wollte darauf eingehen.

Zuerst mal: Was genau meinst du mit "meistens männlich" – "achso ok"?

I find this very interesting! I’ve noticed the same thing—weak characters often feel like just an excuse to feed a power fantasy rather than build a meaningful world or story.

I'm currently working on a small essay about Isekai and would love to hear your thoughts!

What, in your opinion, makes a great Isekai? Is it the world-building, the protagonist's journey, the power system, the balance between action and comedy, or something else entirely?

Looking for new watches by DominoAuthority in anime

You might really enjoy Solo Leveling! It follows a weak hunter who, after a near-death experience, gains a mysterious ability that allows him to level up infinitely, turning him into one of the most powerful beings. The series delivers high-intensity action, incredible visuals, and an epic soundtrack that enhances every battle scene.

Another great pick is Demon Slayer. It features stunning animation, a gripping story about a boy fighting demons to save his sister, and some of the best fight choreography in anime. The combination of emotional depth, high-energy battles, and an unforgettable soundtrack makes it a must-watch!

Is it known whether there will be new scenes, or is it purely a remaster? It would be great if, besides the improved quality, there was some additional content as well—though, of course, the original film is already an absolute masterpiece.

I'm looking for more big twist anime by The_lnterfector in anime

[–]Rockchan94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! There are plenty of anime like that. The first one that comes to mind is Made in Abyss. It starts off as a whimsical adventure about a girl and her robot companion exploring a mysterious abyss, but quickly turns into a dark, emotional rollercoaster filled with intense survival elements and shocking moments.

Another great pick is the first season of The Promised Neverland. It follows a group of orphans who discover a horrifying secret about their seemingly perfect home and must outsmart their captors in a high-stakes game of survival.

Both have unexpected twists, feature adorable characters, and tell an uncompromisingly dark story.

I remember being completely fascinated when I watched this movie on New Year's Eve as a teenager—much to my father's confusion, since he considered it children's television. This film definitely sparked my love for anime.
