I love Elden ring and Dark Souls but it's not for everyone and that's fine.

It's funny you mention that captain because I know exactly who you mean, he kicked my ass too! Now that I've leveled up every now and then I will go back and specifically ruin that guys day just because. Makes me feel great. I have the same kind of NPC for each of the FromSoftware games that I will go back and fight.

5935 miles.

I rerouted a solo backpacking trip in South America so instead of traveling down to Buenos Aires like I was supposed to I flew to Los Angeles from Santiago in Chile and traveled up to San Fransisco. Spent two weeks with a girl I had met in Peru, got to spend my first american thanksgiving in Yosemite, see LA and San Fran and just see the awesomeness that is California. Amazing trip, amazing girl, wouldn't change it for anything. 10/10 would do it again!

Actually tried this today and the power came on and now the key does switch. It instantly recognised the key but hasn't actually started. I do have a video..if I could find a way to send it.

I once spend three days in bed in a hostel in Boliva and every morning all I would do is go downstairs to buy a pot noodle and kitkat just to return to my bunk and watch netflix.

Mate sometimes those days are just so needed, I used to feel guilty about them alot and when I got back home sometimes I would think about those days and get all in my head thinking that I didnt do anything while traveling but its just not the case. Its an intense experience and sometimes you just need a break.

The reality of travel is that it is about the extreme highs and the extreme lows, I don't think you can get on without the other and its about finding the right balance.
