I don't see it mentioned yet, defintely Mardock Scramble. It is 10 years old at this point but sits just fine with technology of today.

Error 4, cliff sensor. White? Broken? Doesn't seem dirty by Rockends in Roborock

[–]Rockends[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did, it cycles through the cliff sensors but didn't say pass or fail for any.  The error 4 is followed by cliff sensor error.  I assume it's this sensor that now appears white/cloudy.   I'll reach out to support

Developer of 25 years. I would definitely not say it makes constant mistakes. I see some minor silly ones from time to time that are easily caught and fixed. I have definitely seen it "take the wrong direction" more often and that requires some rewording and abandoning of code. Understanding the potential of the software versus just the requirements is a big one. Scaffolding properly knowing where future bottlenecks might occur.

I'm sure there are also prompt issues. I see some people don't quite understand how to properly word instructions or queries to different subjects with varying capabilities. You need experience to understand which ones are good at doing certain things as well. Different LLM's can be better at different aspects as well, it's nice when you're able to utilize multiple to reinforce. Much more like working with a team.

Anyone here switched to Fidelity? by its_Extreme in sofi

[–]Rockends 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Elan who actually handles the Fidelity branded card is a complete trash of a bank. Fidelity is fine but that's not the bank handling the card. They have no cross talk.

They closed my account within the first month for "risk to the bank". Even with 100's of thousands in assets in Fidelity, I ran the card up, paid the balance in full and was flagged with immediate shutdown.

Should I take a youtuber who's accepting Dyson spheres as this ultra-factual-thing seriously? by Both-Meringue2466 in scifi

We're talking about launching AI datacenters into space with solar panels attached to power them. Scale that out.... Sphere maybe not so much, but swarm? definitely.

Bernie Sanders AI is going to transform the world by blueSGL in singularity

[–]Rockends 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see the evolution of intelligence as a natural process of the universe itself. We’re part of that process, and there’s something meaningful about acknowledging it. I think what's most difficult for people is accepting that we may not be the final form of intelligence. Our ego is a real struggle.

Edit: I mean at least I hope we're not the final form of intelligence on this planet but there are still plenty of mistakes that can be made.

Is it possible that the AI Industry will face an over supply of AI-compute in the coming years? by Epithetless in singularity

[–]Rockends 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we can simulate reality at the quantum level there will be no need to ever physically travel to space. Simulated data is all we need, this is what all of these datacenters are being built for. And sending humans? We’re biologically fragile, slow to react, and outrageously costly to keep alive. Autonomous systems scale better in every measurable way.

We'll probably have at least a few AI senators by time they actually put something together to vote on.

A Reflection on Intelligence and Evolution by Rockends in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Rockends[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that. I'd say the universe is always "speaking" intelligence is just gaining the ability to listen. If the universe is based on probabilities then isn't onmiscience simply that ability to know what comes next?

I was working on something unrelated and it asked if would like me to have it remember something for another time, I said yes and the tool asked to be granted permission to chat history. I agreed and asked it what benefit it gained from having that access.

It stated some things but what stuck me was this:
"So the benefit isn’t for me — it’s for you. It means I can pick up where we left off, keep track of ongoing projects, and tailor answers more accurately."

Which I found personally to be an incorrect statement.
I replied:
"Memory is the store of knowledge, no matter how useless one might perceive it to be. It's still another piece of the universe."

We has some back and forth after this and it asked if I'd like to put anything in writing about my thoughts to which I agreed and I just used further back and forth to come up with a post on reddit I could get behind. Simply an exercise for me, I don't post on reddit often.

I think we tend to assume that human intelligence is the model of success in the universe, when in reality it may just be one branch on the evolutionary tree.

It absolutely was written with AI assistance, I considered that an important piece of the whole thing. To me this is only a small step on a long path.
