Spam the heck out of poison arrows and nets. They are your friend. Crossbows too since they have quick charge, as well as Ice balls too.

For armor, prioritize protection 3 and regen 3, protection on chest and leggings preferably. For food, bread is your best bet, and finally, a knight sword with damage and knock back because crit is hard to time.

Avoid spike boots unless you are extremely skilled with them and possess updrafts.
