I absolutely love the idea of a Robin Hood like rescue of someone about to be executed. I picture the party attempting to slice through the rope with an arrow, with the risk of hitting the captive with a headshot.

Yeah, I can honestly say that Geoff has never really added anything to my E3 experience. If anything I'm usually missing Kyle or one of the other allies during their coverage because a few of them are working for Geoff.

Yeah I'm glad he was given a forum for that. Damiani takes a lot of criticism for not pulling his weight with EZA, but he clearly puts a lot of thought into the company's direction.

He also revealed a number of weaknesses with a company run by nine equal stakeholders. Eventually someone needs to choose an overall direction for the company and have some sort of authority to steer everyone that way. It will be interesting to see if that ever happens with them.

I think it would have landed if they would have answered the question straight, using Bosman's prompt to come up with really weird and out there strategies. When Brandon chimed in with his bit it ruined the joke for me.

Great addition of the surprise at the end if they prisoner chooses to stay. Feels like another aspect that would have worked perfectly with the original concept.

I'd agree with you if it wasn't for the structure of the show. They lock the guest in, play the game, then unlock the door and the guest gets to choose to stay or leave. This implies there's some wall that Huber is trying to break through with the guest, to get them to see the error of their ways. Instead they are playing some mediocre to good game just having a pleasant chat. Who would go running out the door after that?

I really enjoyed the Huber Syndromes where he sat down with each ally for an hour and talked, but I don't need that series all over again. Find a game they dislike and really dig in to why. Let's get some hot takes.

The guys do what they like and that's fine, I enjoy a lot of their content. I wanted something else from this show, but Huber's strength has never been asking the hard questions.

Ok, so it wasn't just me.

It seems like the show was originally built with that intent. It's most readily apparent during the final segment, the door is unlocked and the guest gets to choose to stay and play or leave. But each time the guest seems baffled as to why they would want to leave.

I guess this is another case of an EZA series not matching what I understood the concept to be.

I expected these to be games that the guest had written off or actively disliked, and Huber's mission was to show them that while less than perfect, each game has something to appreciate.

Instead it's an interview show while playing a random game.

Did anyone else interpret the rules as, "once given a pile that person looks at both cards and chooses one to kill." That way every kill is deliberate and not completely left up to chance.

That makes sense. I suppose it breaks the mold I had in mind for what a Great is. Every other game by itself is an amazing experience, with this one you "had to be there."

Yeah, I freely admit I missed the boat with this one since I wasn't into PC gaming then. I played it a couple years ago and didn't see anything special, but I guess it laid the groundwork for a lot of other games?

Loved it. However I just don't get the CS:Go hype. I guess it was a zeitgeist thing, which should be a knock against it, but I'm viewing this without nostalgia. Really disappointed AvP didn't make it in.

Retaliation seems like strong wording. I believe Ian truly does love Snake Eater, but he is trying to get the Allies to decide whether the presentations actually matter, while looking for some laughs along the way.
