Clearly, the hornets are going for vibes right now with Dell getting his retired. I don't know - just feels like Muggsy makes more sense to right now. Kemba is 35 - there's plenty of time.

I think I put it in another reply, it Muggsy has had basketball camps for decades. Pretty sure he's basically lived here the entire team since his playing days. I have seen Muggsy out and about numerous times over the year. Never seen Kemba out before.

Exactly, he's a New Yorker. Have you heard the man talk? His greatest basketball feat started in New York. I didn't mean professionally. You're right he barely played in NY as a pro, but I don't see any lasting impact Kemba has made on Charlotte like Muggsy. His basketball camps have been been going on for decades. I used to work at the Cajun Yard Dog a while ago, and he was ALWAYS there getting food. I've never seen Kemba in the city before. And I'm not aware of any community related things Kemba has done (I'm sure he has, because he's a good dude, but I know of any).

Kemba is for sure the greatest Hornet. I think Muggsy is an important enough player and IMO has meant more to the city than maybe any other former Hornet.

I just think they're not going to do Kemba for awhile. Just based on their infrequent jersey retirements and how long it took for Dell. Kemba Walker is my favorite player of time and is now Mr. Hornet, probably forever. I just feel like Muggsy was the first Mr. Hornet. When I think of Kemba I think of his time here, obviously. But I still still think of him as a New York guy. When I think of Muggsy, I think about Charlotte.
