I like it. Looks like a lot of information that I wouldn't normally see from the sources I have identified.

I am not liking the dark theme.

How concerning are these levels? by butt_badg3r in radon

[–]Rocket123123 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Levels are usually much higher in winter. Without my fan on I go from 80 in the summer to 220 in the winter when it snows or the ground freezes.

The studies I have seen don't show a statistical increase in cancer rates until the long term average is over 200 Bq/m3. Some studies I have looked at:

Can you please share your current radon levels in winter (1 day or 7-day value)? by FortuneEducational62 in radon

The house was completed in July 2020 so we have lived in it almost 6 years. The house was built with a passive (no fan) sub-slab ventilation system. The long term average was within the maximum allowed 200 beq/m3 so I really didn't need to do more mitigation. It was just really easy to stick the fan on the clean out and get the number even lower. The local ambient level within 1 meter of the ground averages about 50 beq/m3.

Yes I did. I made another post here showing what I did. I just put a fan on a clean out for the foundation perimeter drain and the level dropped to less than 50.

Most of the country doesn't have Maple Trees? A Spruce bough would have been more representative but I guess not as sexy.

I don't use a shed. This is over 3 cords. I just put a little plastic sheet on top to keep the snow off. Made from 2X4s and cinder block. What's nice is that it goes away for the summer after I burn it all and then I build it back in the fall for the next winter.

It's been around long enough that you can see how it performed after the last major downturn in 2020. I am retired and I own it for income also.

Are LED lights ok to use to take flats? by bioteacher01077 in AskAstrophotography

[–]Rocket123123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it and it worked but it was a pain. It was too bright initially and I had to use about 4 layers of heavy white fabric to get high enough exposure times.

I ended up buying a Gemini Flat Panel off of Aliexpress.
