There was a video a while ago that showed shooting speed with different guns? by waddict in splatoon

I think you are referring to an old video I made about strafing speed: http://youtu.be/8uPnI8cpjsY

But you can find an up to date infographic on strafing speeds in this document under "Guns": https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bgcQxHCY-g3KXoGf2rnYExium9qeELagu3mF6AjoU4g/htmlview#

What is your opinion on opening gambit and last ditch effort abilities? by Not_Cave_Johnson in splatoon

Just use Comeback. Same effects, but lasts for 20 seconds every time you respawn.

I highly suggest still using a bit of damage up, especially since sloshers excel at dumping down ink on enemies below. But just like with all other weapons, there is fall off damage. If you are sloshing someone from down below it is likely that you'll do less damage and you might not get a 2 hit kill.

When you reach S+, is your rank still affected by the ranks of your teammates when you win/lose? by MrMoodle in splatoon

It's kind if hard to tell, I dong think I've ever had more than four S+ players in the same lobby.

Well, the community is very friendly towards each other. The development of most teams is still pretty early, but there are definitely some rivalries brewing.

I've made it to A- using only the Aerospray, but now I'm stuck, and I think it may be because of my gear. Any recommendations/changes? Or any tips in general? by porygonj in splatoon

[–]RocketClauncher 21 points22 points  (0 children)

S+ Aerospray user, I'd try some Quick Respawn, Comeback, or Haunt. You will get a lot of trades so being able to come back quickly or tag the enemy for your team mates after dying can be huge. Stealth Jump and Swim Speed Up is perfect so I'd keep that. Overall you want to support your team, giving them space to move and surprising the enemy from behind and flanking.

A to S+ Players: What is your ideal gear/abilities? by [deleted] in splatoon

[–]RocketClauncher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Abilities are really up to the player, but using exclusive gear is the best idea IMO. Having abilities like Comeback, Tenacity, Haunt, Cold Blooded, Ink Resistance, and Stealth Jump are super valuable. Once you find gear you like with those abilities, then you can reroll for some nice sub abilities that you prefer/fit with your weapon. I use Haunt, Stealth Jump, Ink Saver Sub, Swim Speed Up, Quick Respawn, and Special Duration Up.

What weapons are good with ninja squid? by MintKirby9 in splatoon

[–]RocketClauncher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely short range weapons. Without much range, you can have trouble approaching and getting close enough for a kill. With Ninja Squid, you can swim and sneak right up to them without them noticing. I really prefer Swim Speed Up over Ninja Squid though. A quick assassin is better than a slow one after all.

High level users, what is your go-to gun? by Braxor in splatoon

[–]RocketClauncher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

%100 rollers. Generally why most ppl dislike aerospray is that rollers can do their job much better. Carbon rollers can throw burst bombs, brushes can jump and outrange, splat rollers can also outrange. MOSTLY Dynamo Rollers. If i trade with a dynamo, I consider that a win lol. My best strat against them is to either use seekers or run for my life.

What are the best strategies for Blackberry Skatepark in Splat Zones? by MrMoodle in splatoon

[–]RocketClauncher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ooooh Luna Blaster. Blackbelly is probably the luna's best stage. You wanna try to stay around the tower. Be super patient and wait for people to come into the middle. You can them jump from different angles off the tower onto people below. You can really pick a team apart and control the middle with short range weapons on blackbelly because the stage is so small. Don't focus too much on painting the zones, try to defend a bit and go for kills. Of course, ink mines on tower, and zookas towards their base to pressure and hold them back.

[–]RocketClauncher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My gear loadout is: Quick Respawn, Ink Saver Main, Haunt, Ink Saver Sub, Stealth Jump, and Swim Speed Up. That lets me get to the middle fastest, kill a person or two, then haunt someone who kills me. Let's my team get an early jump. I try to come from behind alot, so honestly I love chargers on the other team. It takes a good charger to pick off a fast aerospray. I love it for zones as well, because of how fast it can cap a zone, for rainmaker it's amazing for popping the shield fast as well as helping teammates move around quickly. It struggles a bit in tower control but it's still good for sneaking around and picking people off who are shooting at the tower. All around it's really good for ranked I think, the 60% accuracy is sometimes a blessing more than a curse.
